MLTC has been a great experience for our family. The private room we were offered is bright, clean and spacious. We were allowed to decorate it to make it feel personal and like home. All staff members have been helpful, friendly and attentive to our needs. The meals are lovely and well thought out. Our loved one has been settled and happy since day one. Thank you for everything.
I agree with Ginny, be very careful placing your loved one in this facility. The main lobby is beautiful, but beyond that this place looks like a prison. Rooms are very small, furniture is cheap particle board & they don't seem to care who they match up as roommates. I took my mom there on the advice of doctors & I went back the same night & brought her home.nMy mom doesn't have dementia, but the roommate was in a very advanced stage of dementia or alzheimer's. How did they expect my mom to have a conversation with her roommate? The poor woman had reverted back to her childhood & sat playing with dolls & speaking with imaginary friends.nWhen we got there my mom's clothing was taken to their laundry room to have labels with her name applied to her clothing. When I went back at 11pm, my mom's clothes were still waiting to be labelled. Did they expect her to sleep in her clothes that night? Mom's bed was right beside the bathroom, so when the bathroom door was opened it came within a couple of inches of her bed & totally blocked in a chair that was beside the bed!nThe area just inside the door was being used to store a huge leather recliner & a 4 wheel dolly. Neither item belonged in that room, making it even more cramped & small than it was.nI just didn't have the heart to leave my mom there. She was crying & so upset at the thought of living in that tiny room. My heart was broken for her, so I had to bring her home.nShe still has some health issues, but we are managing well & most importantly mom is happy & safe at home in her own room.nI'm sure not everyone will experience what we did, but please consider long & hard before you put your loved one in any longterm care facility. They are under staffed & the people who work in them are doing the best they can, but are extremely over worked & can't possibly give the care I'm sure they wish they could.
I came to the home today with a gift for my brother. I requested if someone could ask him if he would be willing to see me. Bronwyn went to ask him. Bronwyn came back and she said he was adamant about not wanting to see me. Bronwyn apologized and she was very sympathetic. I told her it was not her fault. I really appreciated that Bronwyn was so caring. She took the gift for my brother. I hope that my brother appreciates staff member Bronwyn.
Our experiences have been nothing more than wonderful with the Memory Care area.nStaff go over and above with Recreational activities with the residents. It’s truly exceptional what staff do at MLTC which include restaurant visits, car show, park walks, outdoor petting zoo, annual pie making fundraisers and this is only to mention a few.nBravo job well done staff!
Administration is all about money, would never put someone I love back in this home
