Ended up here when the restaurant we meant to go to was full. The staff was very friendly and the space was clean. There were just a handful customers on a friday evening. The food is well priced and delicious!! Falafel small dinner plate was $10.49. Small is a good portion. We also got some sides for $4. I also really enjoyed the soothing piano music in the background. I can't wait to come back! Photo taken after I ate some of it.
We ordered a large chicken shawarma plate and a large chicken shawarma lafta wrap for delivery through Uber Eats. The wrap arrived fine but the plate was a disappointment. Half the chicken was completely burnt black and the rest tasted mediocre at best. We called the restaurant to inquire. They tried to tell us at first that’s how chicken shawarma is supposed to be. I refuted this point and said we had ordered several times before and it was never like this. I mentioned that the chicken in the wrap was fine as well. They then apologized and said they’d be more careful in the future. When I asked for a refund I was deferred to Uber Eats.
I have been to North York location several times and it was good. First time at Markham, and I have to say, food was inedible. My son got kefta, which was this dry, burnt lump. He asked if he can bin it, I said fine, maybe he’s being picky. Then I opened my laffa. The bread was burnt, bitter crisp. I bit into it and it was a laffa soup because the super thin and burnt pancake like substance didn’t hold the toppings. Big mess. I would understand if they were busy and didn’t notice a couple of burnt items but there were hardly any customers. Maybe that should have been a clue, on a Saturday evening. Great location, terrible food.
We ordered 2 laffa wraps and 2 variety plates, none of them looked like the pictures on their website. The service was very slow, the man who took our order was a bit rude, expecting us to know the menu by heart with all the options that go inside the laffa. Impossible. For overall experience leaving 4, although the food was pretty delicious.
UPDATE: went back feb 9 2023. Ordered chicken breast platter with garlic dill wedges this time, it was delicious. Temperature was perfect this time. Upped the review to 4 stars It’s alright. I ordered the chicken wrap and was told it would be 15 minutes, I figured cool it’ll probably be a fresh sandwich, it wasn’t. The chicken was cold with little flavour but the wrap overall was delicious. The sauces and salad inside it taste really good. They have a nice seating area and the staff is easy to talk to.
This restaurant has the worse customer service! They don’t communicate properly and clearly. The food is not freshly made. The soup is pre-made, so if you order soup for example: they will boil the cold soup and bring you the soup. According to them their portions are really small, while with the same price you can get much more in other place. I went there twice and every time I feel like I was scammed. Not recommended at all.
This restaurant serves East Mediterranean cuisine and is unlike the typical restaurant of that type. Inside, it's a sleek, modern dining room with good ambiance so that you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed environment. The food is tasty and enjoyable. I ordered the chicken shawarma and the meat is flavored well and the sauces complemented the protein. I also had the baba ghanouj and the pieces of eggplant that were in the sauce added some texture and additional flavor. Although I wish the rice was flavored a bit more, overall, I enjoyed my meal and would happily come back again and again.
Ordered through Uber Eats and within less than a minute cancelled because we saw that a $50 order ballooned to over$70. It let us cancel but still still charged over $60. So we got charged with no food delivery. Nice service me va meFood: 1/5
Food tasted good but they didn't put enough grilled veggies in the chicken shwarma plate. Service was slow. Took over 20 minutes to be served at our table even though we ordered at the cash register. Atmosphere was nice as it was not crowded or had loud music blaring like some restaurants.
Worst mevame in the gta. I eat there a lot because they are right by my office. They have always given smaller portions compared to other locations. Today i went for lunch and ordered a greek salad with chicken where i asked for hot sauce. When it came to the tsble there was none so i asked the waitress to bring some. She said hot sauce is extra and i woyld have to go to the cashier and pay $1 25 for it do i did just feel they are too money hungy nickel and diming everything. Wont be coming back again after today.
