McVeigh's New Windsor Tavern
"McVeigh's Irish Pub is located on the corner of Church and Richmond within walking distance of the Eaton Centre and City Hall. The McVeigh family have been ambassadors of Irish music and hospitality for over 53 years. The moment you arrive you feel right at home among the pictures of great irish poets and paintings of bands like the Chieftans. You will hear Celtic tunes and traditional Irish music six days a week. Our kitchen is always open late. You have a standing invitation to come and enjoy an evening. Jimmy Sr, Jimmy Jr or Paul McVeigh will always be there to greet you."

We had a large group so service was slow to get food in particular. But the food was very good. Atmosphere was kind of lacking but we were there fairly early on Saturday night. Maybe it gets better as it gets later. The other thing that's weird about the place now is there's a big construction project beside it so they're kind of stuck on an island there now and it's a bit discouraging. Parking: Best to take the Subway it's not far from Queen station it's like 2 blocks to walk.
On of the nicest most authentic pubs in Toronto. The place is family ran and everytime I have been here it got live music and the crowd give it such an energetic vibe that is also relaxing. Legit everytime I take a new person here the person will fall in love and would want to come back.
Fantastic food. May not be completely authentic Irish but beat Nachos I’ve ever had. Wings and Shepherds Pie were really good. Enjoy!
From what I remember after several hours there - The beers on tap are on point - I wasn't thinking ahead and accidentally wore a shirt that could be interpreted as orange - didn't die. Super stoked about that - It smells the way an Irish pub with wood furniture and wood floors should smell. - I vaguely remember eating but couldn't tell you what it was. I would assume if it was terrible I wouldn't have eaten the food - service was good
Always a great place for a pint, no more lunchtimes there sadly as we’ve all moved away but we’ll be back to visit!
What an amazing vibe! Great pub with live Irish music and draught. Pints are about $8.50 and I'm not sure if there's a food menu but the decor, music and vibe make this place amazing. Definitely returning soon!
A quaint Irish pub with a lot of charm. McVeigh's has been around forever and hasn't changed much in those years. The ownership was proudly Irish and is a kind of harbour for new arrivals and expats from the Emerald Isle. If you're looking for a full-irish experience in the way that Chicago dyes their river green... Stick to the "cool" chains; but if you're looking for a good pint and some decent food - you can't go wrong here!
Staff is really nice to food selection is limited but it is of good quality and of course on tap beer. Great little place in the busy part of the city.
While it was just like any other pub, I would like to point out the server Nico/Nicholas. I was told Thursday night after 10 PM, Gordon’s gin is on bar rail and it is for $5. When settling my bill, he over charged me and when I asked for a bill, he said he can’t print out the bill since there’s some issue. It had only been 5 minutes lol. Then he manually calculated and pretended he made an honest mistake which clearly wasn’t the case. One of the worst experience I’ve had with a server honestly. Avoid going, nothing special.
They know how to properly pour a Nice, Creamy, Delicious pint of Guinness. Live music ain't bad either!Service: 4/5
