McLeod Emergency Food Shelf

Great staff and people, they are very helpful people and they take good care of you and get you the right food that you needed help you with everything and if you're disabled they can even help you with that too and would even take it to your car I even used to volunteer there a couple of years ago. Unfortunately as with all the reviews I have to be 100% honest I am giving four stars because of the hours the most of the week that they close at 1 p.m. which makes no sense because a lot of people are still not off of work so therefore people that need assistance are not able to do so till Thursday, which means Thursdays are the most busiest and because of covid restrictions they only allow a certain amount of people into the building at a time so therefore were have to sit outside and wait in our Vehicles until were called upon I don't think a lot of people going to be wanting to do something like this during winter and waste their fuel to stay warm. Due to the fact that the majority of people who have jobs which it may be part time or full time , depends on their schedule they may be at a disadvantage, half the time when I arrive on Thursday to go and get food they're packed and and sometimes when I get there they run out of stock on certain items so half the time I end up missing a few items that I have on my grocery list. I strongly recommend that McLeod County Food Shelf reconsiders their hours of operation to be a little more flexible unless it's a matter of availability of volunteers, please let the community know so others can join and help, if you get more volunteers you might be able to increase the schedule availability of when you can be open

I'm sorry but they wouldn't be considered to being my first choice of going there and getting food. Because at the food shelf that I normally go too is back in my hometown of Buffalo, Minnesota at least they let you go inside with them and go shopping while wearing a mask of course due to the pandemic going on right now, and you can pick out whatever you want without any complications or fuss about the limited amount of food that they get and supplies like shampoo and conditioner tooth brush and tooth paste deodorants paper towel toilet paper laundry soap dish soap etc etc....

The people there do a wonderful job!

No one show up. We sat there almost 1hr and 20mins. With 5 other car waiting. This would have been a good time for someone to have been tbere. Food was needed. Thanks. Maybe next time leave a close sign on door.

I was able to get plenty of food that will feed me for some time

Some Food so old 2016. Only had two boxes of cereal on shelf. Only choice was oat meal package and raisin bran. Most of the veggies were so bad i didn't take them. Mold and soft to touch.

They are so sweet and never make you feel like you're a beggar or taking advantage

Staff here are amazing!!!

They care about everyone who walks through the door. Always have a smile. They get to know people personally. Place is clean.
