McDonald's

They did a lovely renovation but no longer allow refills.nnThey moved the soda dispenser behind the order counter so you can’t access it and when I asked to see if they could refill for me they said “this store no longer allows free refills”.nnIt costs 5 cents, literally, for a refill. So cheap.nnThe next time I went in I asked for no ice to try and get a bit more soda in the cup, wouldn’t do that either. McDonalds is already the most profitable fast food franchise in Canada, was this really a necessary move?

Normally my go to McDonald’s. However today was a not so pleasant experience. Asked for a package of mayo, my order was over $25, they charged .25 per package. Ok. Then I get my order and my burger is missing ingredients that I ordered and paid for. Brought this to their attention and a male manager came out and said well we don’t control the pricing when mentioning the fact they charge for sauce but forgot items that were paid for. They corrected the situation which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Nothing higher due to the fact that this male manger then stood in the lobby talking about us. This is unacceptable and very unprofessional as the situation was done with.

We don’t get McDonald’s often and this will be the first time I’ve ever written a negative review. Going to McDonald’s is a special treat. We do a few times a year. If it’s a special night for one of the kids, the other parent will take the kids out but we usually buy two toys so that there is another toy when my older child gets home. It’s an extra $2-$3 I think.nnOver the years there have been multiple screwup at the drive-through where I’ve called back and they assure me I can have a free meal the next time I come but then when I come, no one knows who I am or where this imaginary list is.nnToday at the drive-through I ordered A full-size meal for myself, and a kids meal for my youngest, as my oldest was out with mommy tonight, doing martial arts together.nnWhen I got to the second window, they quickly asked me to go and park aside and wait as it would be out in a few minutes. This wasn’t a terribly long wait maybe 10 minutes at the most. The young man who brought me, my meals, was only carrying the meals. “Oh, they didn’t give them to me”, Was his reply when asked.nnBeing in the Hvac field and seeing the repair of most commercial icemakers, I always request no ice in my drink. I typically drink water, but I will treat myself to an iced tea occasionally. When I stopped at a light and decided to have a sip of my iced tea, I realize that not only was it Coca-Cola, but it also was full of ice.nnWhen I arrived home later, we realized that they had only given me one of the two happy meal toys that I asked for. This has happened to me before at least two separate occasions at this exact location.nnAs I said earlier, this is my first bad review, and I don’t typically make reviews unless they’re positive. I just Feel like it is time to say something, so that is what I am doing. This is at least a dozen instances over the last few years, and I just had to say something .nnAt this point $100 gift certificate wouldn’t get me to buy McDonald’s from this location again.

Not sure if the happy meal toys for kids is the same at every MacDonalds in Ontario, but wow! My son who is six expressed how much he doesn't even want to set foot in another MacDonalds ever again because the happy meal toy has been consistently awful for the past year now in Bracebridge. I noticed also how awful and downright pathetic each toy has been now for quite awhile. As a parent I used to look forward to seeing the suprise for each meal, but now I don't even care to look, because it's always a huge disappointment now to look in the box! It's should be renamed Unhappy Meal!

Awful, absolutely awful. I understand price increases but you should at least get descent food. McChicken doesn't fit the bun, Quarter pounders cold live less than 5 minutes away fries tasted uncooked AND half a container. Awful, absolutely awful. I fall for the trap , my fault.
