So beautiful! Quiet, well-developed sites for tenting or RVing some electrical sites. Showers, beach, playground, right on quiet section of Columbia River.
Beautiful campground. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Most of sites are quite sloped so bring lots of leveling blocks.
I love camping at this park. The beach is clean with golden sand and is not overcrowded by people. Water is clear and warm in the summer. The campsites are well maintained and well spaced apart from one to another. Hosts are very friendly. It’s not too far from Nakusp to get groceries. We will definitely come back here to camp again!
The park is well maintained. The showers were clean. Staff was approachable and friendly. The campground is long with campsites opposite each other, with a single shower facility at one end. If your campsite is at the other end, you would be walking 10-15 mins to the showers. The shower facility has a single flush toilet in each men and women's sections. These 2 toilets are the only flush toilets in the campground. Our campsite led directly to the sandy beach behind. Awesome views and gorgeous lake. Unfortunately there were swarms of mosquitoes and that took away from our experience. Not sure if the mosquitoes are present through the season. Restrooms: Pit toilets through the park. 2 flush toilets, one in each the men's and women's showers.
Our absolute favorite park to camp at. The lots are spacious, far enough away from your neighbors to have good privacy. The beach seems to go on forever. The park is very well maintained and well definitely go back again.
Calm and relaxing location. Big sites. Lots of room between sites. The beach and the views are amazing. Saddle mountain, and a broad view both north and south. Nature trail nearby which is good to do with young kids. If you're expecting inclement weather, be prepared. It can really rain in this area.
Very good park, among the best in BC. Well cared for, excellent sites, guiet, spacious, premium boat launch, vast sandy beach, good hiking trails. Easy access off Highway 6. Good golfing nearby.
The powered sites are nothing more than narrow parking stalls. The park staff were awesome and friendly. The dry camp sites are beautiful. There is one washroom with one toilet, the rest are pit toilets. Beautiful area
Absolutely loved camping at McDonald Creek. It was our first time here and exceeded our expectations. Would have stayed longer if we could have. If you’re looking for a relaxing and peaceful place this is it. Everything was really clean, well kept and sites were gorgeous. We were lucky to get one of the sites along the water for one of our nights there. If you’re going during non peak times where you can’t reserve sites try to get there early if you want a spot by the water. We noticed a lot of the RVs left at around 8-10..well before check out at 11. This will ensure you get one of the spots with lake views. Park operators were incredibly helpful, accommodating and friendly. Can’t wait to go back next summer.
An excellent Park. Bring a boat or kayak and your mountain bike. Hard to get a spot you must make a reservation in advance for this place. Very well kept and maintained by the park rangers a little on the pricey side as far as camping goes but you get what you pay for. Beautiful old-growth Forest when you follow the trail watch out for the old loggers Cabin in the Woods. Too far from Hot Springs only negative.
