Thanks to MCAP, I can now travel the world and have been doing so for a month, got reunited with my amazing former boss Tom Kamoen in Belgium. I am now in Istanbul for four days while I settled in Greece for a month and checked many items off of my bucket list in the five countries and two continents I have now visited. All thanks to MCAP! : Still getting one star though!
As a mortgage agent I really enjoy working with MCAP. Market leading products that keep the client's best interest in mind, a wonderful BDM and underwriter to work with and quick response times. Shawn and Hilda help make the business easier.
RUN! Do not use this company. They have given me the worst mortgage advise and then done nothing to help. They repeatedly referred me to manage my finances via their website which has errors and does not process correctly. The tone I get when I call to explain and ask for help is condescending and accusatory. I am stuck with them now due to their recommendation on a mortgage product and will count the months until I can walk away. I repeat do not use this company you will only end up frustrated, very very frustrated.
I got a good deal with MCAP last year when I got my first mortgage. Their website interface has been easy to use. Unfortunately, I needed to resolve an issue that I thought was already resolved 2 weeks ago, and had to speak with at least 4 different representatives over the phone since early April to finally resolve the issue today. Overall, their staff have been friendly and I still feel I made the right choice going with MCAP.
Had a negative experience with this company. Had a mortgage with them and looked to get a HELOC based on increase in equity. They initially indicated one amount would be fine, then took over 2 months for them to let me know it wouldn't work. The rationale was due to owning a commercial property that had no debts associated with it and earned revenue for us. They only considered the liabilities for the property, which already came out of our income, and wouldn't add that back to our income, consider rental contracts, or consider depreciation. The timeline and explanations were both poor. They may be okay if you aren't expecting any changes to your mortgage, but I would avoid if you need any flexibility in the future, are self-employed, or own other properties.
MCAP has been our lender since 2007, and I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. 1. Would not give me a HELOC, ever. Have a million dollar house and owe 294K and no HELOC. How do I repair anything? 2. Cannot get third party HELOC. Read your fine print. 3. Very high fees for anything. 4. Unless your beacon score is 850 or above, high renewal rates, which they will not budge on. So high, had to go variable, which is still 2 percent higher than chartered bank advertised 5 year fixed at the time2017. 5. Condescending, non-helpful, and uncaring customer service. I finally changed lenders. Owed $294K @ 4.490% variable rate 3 months of interest payout penalty would be $3300.48. My payout date was June 13 2022, and my maturity was Aug 30 2022. MCAP charged me $4037.36 of interest due, accrued interest, and payout penalties! I had 78 days to maturity. This was my real world experience. D.E. Mission, BC Have fun!
We are in LOVE with MCAP! Their client portal is SO user friendly and easy to use - we can alter our mortgage payments, apply pre-payment, and use their mortgage calculator for hypothetical situations. It is super user friendly, which is a nice change from some of the big bank's online platforms. Their customer service is fantastic - requesting skip a payment during COVID was so easy and convenient! Great lender to work with!
I have dealt with MCAP for many years now and find them to be the quickest for turnaround time and document review. The products that they offer are whithout a doubt some of the most competiitive with all the bells and whistles. One of my number one "go to" lenders for sure!!
I was approved for a mortgage and after I had enlisted my lawyer and paid the appraisal they just canceled everything. Do not trust them.
Always had very timely service from staff. Renewing my mortgage was very simple and with great rates.
