I had a foot surgery on 12/21/22. Not gonna lie, i was nervous. From the moment we entered the building at 7 am until the moment they wheeled me out at 1030, it was a fantastic experience! Every single staff member was pleasant, helpful, and treated me amazingly. This is THE BEST surgical experience I have EVER had. Well done McKenzie! A+++++++
Most of the doctors nurse right down to stuff are rude. Treat you like a no body. Run one or two test if lucky but if they cant find nothing wrong send you home. If I or my family has another hospital to go to when its a last min thing would NOT pick Mckenzie Health ! If I could I wouldn't even give them one star.
They told me I could have a discount to pay my $4900.00 bill, if paid in full. Which I opted for! Even though my 1,000 deductible insurance should had covered it if it was billed corretly Then, they sent the "discount balance" to collections. Not that I technically don't owe it, but its shady to tell someone you can get a deal and they dont fulfill the deal! So if they offer you a "deal".. good luck!
This may seem like a weird review, but bear with me. In a world where medical office staff are often incompetent, have no follow-through, and/or are simply rude as h***, I found the statistical outlier in Mackenzie's covid vaccine scheduler named Lacey. I had a shingles reaction to my first dose, and was advised by medical personnel to wait until it cleared before getting the second dose. Lacey worked diligently with her team over the course of at least a month to see how I was doing, to figure out the next steps. She called me repeatedly - I did not have to dog her for answers. She provided scheduling flexibility solutions and really helped guide me. I honestly can say I felt cared for on an individualized and professional basis. How many people can say that about ... anyone??? Lacey embodies work ethics that IMHO come from another era, where dependability, responsibility, solutions, follow-up, and a pleasant personality are what matters. I hope Mackenzie Hospital values Lacey. She is EXEMPLARY of excellent patient service! Mackenzie leaders. take note: Lacey is the hospital's FACE to the public. She reflects you. Thank you, Lacey.
Ii gave one star because you cannot give zero!!! This is not a family friendly facility!! They have antiquated practices and do not allow even one family member to be with patients!! My child was scared and had to go to ER for an injury and they did not let anyone in to be with him. There are appropriate COVID safety measures being followed by other facilities, however McKenzie does follow these proven industry standards of practice. If it were not for fact he was bleeding heavily we would have went elsewhere.
New to area my daughter has been back and forth with allergies the past couple months we normally take her into the McKenzie after hours but I really wanted to see someone in person this time Dr. Hammed Mustafa was super nice easy to talk to the hole staff was nice and wait time wasn’t terrible either, thank you
My exaperiance with COVID testing was great. It was easy to make the appmt and they did it curbside, keeping me safe from other viruses or COVID in the event that i wasnt positive. They offer a service that you can not find ANYWHERE in Lapeer County. I appriciate the staff working in cold conditions to help the residents in the community stay safe and healthy. I wish I could say the same for Lapeer.
Being the only hospital in the area it has potential to be a fantastic facility, especially in a rural community. The staff in the emergency cannot multitask and as we sit here waiting. Treatment cannot be started for a branch through the eyelid and a possible concussion, until after an ejected passenger in a vehicular accident arrives, which will be another 39 minutes. Yet the awaiting staff stands idly by failing to attend to current patients, clearly poor utilization of time. In fact they have parked the patient with a sliced eyelid and possible concussion and failed to even bother too check in. His ice pack is reminiscent of warm puddle water in the spring.
I'm always going to the ER for my Crohn's disease flare ups. This hospital is walking distance from my home. Tonight/this morning I had to visit the ER due to another flare up. Tonight I had a doctor that I've never met. My bracelet says his name is gomaa Isla. He was very rude. First I arrived at midnight in extreme pain, crying and screaming. They put me in a room and didn't even give me anything for the pain for 2 hours! I bawled and screamed for 2 hours. He then told me to drink the contrast... I told him with Crohn's disease flare ups you never drink anything it'll cause more pain and more vomiting. HE ROLLED HIS EYES AT ME! Then continued to day it's different for contrast. SIR LIQUIDS WON'T GO PASSED THE FLARE IN MY INTESTINES!!! INCLUDING THE CONTRAST.
Absolutely terrible medical service. Said my unborn baby was going to die when infact he wasn't. worst medical facility I've ever experienced in my life. You'd think this was a 3rd world country. The Male and female nurses are disrespectful and not at all qualified to do their jo . I will be going to bad axe and port huron from now on. 0-10 would never recommend
