Masjid Quba was established in 1989 to cater the needs of the growing Muslim community of central Edmonton. Initial facilities consisted of a leased coat factory converted to a mosque where a handful of Muslims offered salaat and partook in Dawah activities. By the grace of ALLAH almighty, from these humble beginnings, the congregation has grown and we now have approximately 400 people offering Jumma Salaat.
In addition, there are evening classes for children where they receive religious education. To serve the needs of young Muslims we also offer Hifz programs. We have two full time Ulema conducting various activities for adults e.g., Tafsir, Hadith,Tajweed & Ta’leem. Daily educational circle are held for adults with weekly programs for ladies. Other effort to instill the qulaties of Imam & Salat in masses takeplace on daily basis.
Since inception, Quba masjid has served an ethnically diverse population including Muslims of Middle Eastern, African, Asian and European origin
