Muslim Society of Prince Edward Island is a Canadian registered charitable organization.
Muslim Society of Prince Edward Island was created in 1990 to serve the needs of the growing Muslim community in Prince Edward Island. The goals of the society are outlined in the constitution (by-laws) of the society which are:
1. Practice, protect and promote the principles of Islam;
2. Procure and develop necessary resources;
3. Work toward the establishment of an Islamic Centre on the Island for dissemination of information to all interested individuals and groups;
4. Promote better understanding of Islamic culture and values based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, between Muslims and other religious and cultural groups on the Island.
The Muslim Society of Prince Edward Island built the Mosque and Islamic Centre on Prince Edward Island. It is known as “Masjid Dar-As-Salam”
