Masingill's furniture legacy began with Tollie and Nettie Masingill who founded the Gem Electric Company in 1928. The family business continued with brothers Tobe and Cliff Masingill who owned and operated Masingill's Furniture and Appliance in both Payette, Idaho and Ontario, Oregon. The family believed that the customers were the most important part of the business and therefore made sure they were provided with what they needed.
That belief has continued thoughout the family's legacy and does not fall short at Masingill's Discount Mattress and Furniture, owned and operated by the founders' grandaughter Lee Nelson and her husband Lee. We boasted "ridiculously low prices" thanks in part to our location in the original Masingill's Furniture building in downtown Payette. Utilizing space that we already have has enabled us to keep the overhead low and extend those savings onto our customers. We not only offer products at great prices, but also pride ourselves on the expansive selection of mattresses, bedroom furniture, sofas, recliners, occasional tables, dining sets, accent furniture, lamps and shades. While some of the inventory comes from overseas, we know how important it is to support domestic manufacturing. We offer a selection of Restonic mattresses that are made in Twin Falls, Idaho; upholstery lines from Portland and Salt Lake City; and reclining furniture made in Mississippi.
The tradition continues with the new owner, Philippa Smith. She graduated from Ontario High School and has lived in Boise, Idaho and the Pacific Northwest returning to Payette, Idaho. She holds the same values in customer service and providing "Modern Comfort at Vintage Prices". We continue to carry the same high quality furniture with many lines that are "Made in the USA".
