Boy, has this place gone downhill! I used to love this place when it was actually owned and operated by the original Marty. I don't know who makes them now, but they are hard as rocks and the bagel is half the size it used to be, because the "holes" are twice as big. Go to Zimi's or Geno's for good bagels and egg sandwiches. I will say that the apple turnovers, cinnamon rolls and the coffee are very good. And the counter help is very friendly.
Half the reason I show up to weekend drills is because I signed the contract to serve my country. The other half is because the breakfast they serve here.
Very nice place with a great breakfast menu. Also the staff are pretty friendly specially the girl named Hanny, she works really fast and neat. I’ll be back for sure .
The best bagels in Rockland country!
I've been looking for a bagel that is similar to the Brooklyn ones that I left behind a few years ago. Finally today I stopped in on impulse to try a bagel. Fifth place in the area that I've been testing for months. I bit into it in my car and that "Chewy Pull" and soft bite is something to talk about. Finally was able to convince my wife to get these instead of Thomas abominations.
Marty's is an OK bagel place. The bagels taste good, and they have decent iced coffee. The egg sandwich only has one egg, and the menu on the wall doesn't reflect all options you have, such as adding Taylor ham. The bialy is good, and they add poppy seeds, which not all bialys have. While I was there, they made mistakes on the three orders ahead of me, but mine was fine.
Stopped in to get coffee and hot chocolate. The drinks were incredibly watered down...and over priced. Threw them out, and stopped somewhere else to get coffee.
These are the best bagels I've found since moving from long island. Truly a pure new York bagel, not the soggy muffins they try to pass off as bagels in Westchester county.
They make egg sandwhiches with one egg. If you want a regular egg sandwhich, which is two eggs, they charge you more. Very unspectacular. I think it changed hands. Doesn't have much of a classic bagel store feel, more like a bodega. Go to carzonas in piermont instead.
Edited my original post. Marty’s has become a solid and reliable bagel store. Staff is real friendly and quality of the food is good.
