Story

Marquette County Sheriff's Office is located in south central Wisconsin, about 50 miles north of Madison. The county is approximately 457 square miles with 880 miles of roadways. The Sheriff's Office has an administrative division, patrol division, detective division, communications and corrections division. The sheriff's Office is responsible for law enforcement in the county, security of the courts, maintaining the county jail, and serving civil process.

Called to report boyfriend was intoxicated & took my father's house keys without permission and that he was in my father's house a different location, without permission & I wanted him removed.  Their response, "the keys were in a common area where u both live, therefore, we will not remove him from your father's house".  I say "But he did not have permission to take those keys and stay at my father's house! He does not belong there if he did not have permission!"  Their response, "We can call him and "ask" him to leave. We will not go into your father's property and remove him".  I respond, But he is trespassing because he did not have PERMISSION to take those keys nor PERMISSION to enter and stay at father's house?"  They refuse to remove him or show up at the property. They will only call him and ASK him to leave, like it's OPTIONAL!?,  to which he promptly says, No!  WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY USELESS, INEFFECTIVE & LAZY POLICE DEPARTMENT!!!

Don't come through this area the police officer who stopped our vehicle followed us all the way from marquette county to montello county.  Talk about having nothing better to do he stopped our vehicle and I asked him what was the issue. We had nothing wrong with our vehicle. Up to date on insurance. Not speeding at all. But we were pulled over? Cops here have nothing better to do. Trying to find a reason to collect money and discriminate. Will try to find any reason to stop a minority race. Hick County.

They certainly do not know how to pick up mental illness when they see it. I call the captain and when the discussion  started getting deep his response was...  I already told you all I'm going to tell you. Have a good day mam and hung up. He did not want to hear about his officers and their behavior.

I just want to go on record with everyone else trashing this agency for it's attempted tyranny. You cannot arrest people for speech. You should change your residence to North Korea or China and you will feel very comfortable there. I think you should book a flight immediately. How disgraceful and shameful you are, sad.

They like to tear families apart and love harassing people and don't really care about anything ir anyone as long as they get their quoted for the month and they like causing problems with families even if they are not in the right. But who care right thanks for the most horrible service you can give us.

This department takes away your rights instead of protecting them. I hope they are sued out of the job and replaced by responsible individuals who are smart enough to understand what their job actually is. Maybe this is one of those departments that screens out the smart applicants? Need to pay our police more to attract better talent, and be able to clean house of the people we can't trust to perform this most critical of jobs.

They cited me for unregulated speed and in attentive driving after my roll over on November 8th 2020. I plead not guilty. Had a pre trail set up and would get the information by mail. On January 20th I had a pre trail, but on Jan 20th after returning home from work4:30pm  I found it in the mail stating my pre trail date was January 20that 9 am.  I missed it. Now It's is for failure to keep vehicle under control?  I didn't think you can change tickets after the court already stated  two different charges?  I have called them and have not heard anything back.  Maybe small town police have nothing better to do then make up tickets after the fact, but I don't know my attorney is looking into it.  I also have a witness who was there with me about the situation.

You guys are wrong for how you are trying to do that girl for properly warning people that she may have had Covid-19. And to say that she tested negative means she doesn't have it shows your whole ignorance on the subject. Sheesh must not take much to be apart of this department. You guys need to better educate the people you have out here "protecting and serving". How is it protecting the people when she was doing the right thing by warning people and you guys had her take it down?

I called them because I was threatened with a firearm and showed visual proof of the weapon and the Persons carrying it. They told me they couldn’t do anything because there wasn’t enough proof. They do nothing

As of today's date, 0/24/2021 The sheriff lost a lawsuit in which he violated someone's first amendment rights. You need a sheriff that knows the constitution and the law!
