Mark's Piano Services Tuning Moving Rebuilding Repairs

Booked a service to get a piano moved and tuned from a purchase on Kijiji. His website wasn’t working so information entered onto it just disappeared. Everytime I phoned he told me I needed to enter things onto the website. Almost lost my purchase due to the delays on his side due to technical issues. When the piano was moved, he scheduled it 4 hours earlier than agreed necessitating leaving work to meet the movers. The movers, the only part he wasn’t involved in were professional and quick and are responsible for the only bright spot in this interaction. Scheduling the tuning went better, however he was such a snob that he refused to tune the piano on sight even before looking at the mechanics. He was rude to my wife and scoffed that we should abandon this piano and buy one from his shop. I had read that he was rude and normally listen to reviews but in this case I proceeded despite every step he was involved in going wrong. Terrible demeanour, terrible business practice, and a truly terrible experience.

Mark is a very nice and friendly man who definitely knows how to befriend the customer. He's an extremely professional and experienced piano technician that can do basically anything for the piano. I had a Bell Upright which was in completely rough shape, so I decide to give Mark a call since I needed someone to fix my piano. He came in to take a look and told me everything which needed to be done to make it the best piano money can buy. So he took it in, and it came out looking beautiful, and sounding fantastic. I recommend Mark completely.

We recently purchased an old Challen grand piano from a couple who had only used the piano for display in their home because neither of them played. Although the piano was old, it was in very good condition. I called Mark to have the piano tuned. I must say I have never spoken to a more arrogant piano tech. He asked me the basic questions like how old the piano was, the make, when it was last tuned, when I purchased it etc... I was surprised when he abruptly concluded that the piano was "untunable", even without coming to see it for himself. He later explained that he had seen my piano before and that there is nothing he could do. I was devastated thinking I had wasted money on the piano. Fast forward a few days later... We called a different piano tuner. He came to the house the other day, assessed the piano and tuned it without a hitch! He said that the piano was fine and would only need very minor adjustments. The piano sounds lovely and is perfectly tuneable!
