Definitely the best poutine in Edmonton with some of the best cheese curds we've had. We tried the classic poutine and the smoked meat poutine which were both delicious. Would have liked a bit more sauce though so next time I will ask for extra. We did the medium size which was plenty big and the only thing that would have made it better is if they had steamed hot dogs like you get in Montreal.
Traditional poutine the gravy was nice and hot and very generous with the cheese curds. 8.6 out of 10 it’s my #2 spot so far for the poutine Pepperoni Pizza 7.6 out of 10 too much pepperoni over powering the sauce, cheese and crust flavours Montreal meat sandwich 7.5 out of 10
*update: tried the pulled pork poutine. So good! Sweet pulled pork, and a nice addition. Best poutine I've ever had outside of Québec. The curds are made fresh next door and have the right squeak. You can speak French, which is awesome. Went at lunch on a Saturday and it got busy quick, but the service was great and everything was super fresh. A small is a proper meal, and it's only $8 for a traditional small. We had two traditional and one Galvaude - both were great and I'm going to try the smoked meat next time. It's a small restaurant, but is attached to the cheese factory, too, so you can pick up some curds for the walk home!
Best poutine in Edmonton. VERY close to some of the best in Montreal, eg.. La Banquese. 2 things that are not quite as good as genuine poutine La Banquese -Fries are perfect, slightly soggy and cut square BUT doesn't have the slightly sweet taste like they are cooked in peanut oil. Seems like Canola. -Gravy is not homemade like Montreal, it is the proper darkness Beef but tastes like canned or powdered Gravy. But still by far the best poutine in Edmonton closely followed by Cafe Bicyclette.
Been to Montréal many times and had the poutine there. This is some great poutine in Edmonton. The curds come right from the factory in the back of the building. The mark of a great poutine is that even though it should be heavy, it eats light. This does that. Can't wait to come back again for more poutine and to try other menu items like the pizza or sandwiches. Atmosphere is no nonsense and comfortable. There are tables to eat at. Vegetarian options: Poutine is vegetarian friendly. Not vegan. Kid-friendliness: They have a small kids menu of chicken fingers and what kid doesn't like fries and pop?
Poutine made with fresh cheese curds! Bring your appetite when you come as portions are generous!Food: 5/5
So far, best poutine in Edmonton and the closest to what I was getting when I was living in Quebec. That restaurant serves the type of food I always got in QC snack bars with the same quality. Cheese curds are fresh, gravy is a traditional brown poutine gravy like what's served in QC and the fries were crispy and delicious. Their sugar pie is also very delicious and tastes like authentic Quebec sugar pie. As a person born in Quebec who missed the food of my home province, I'm very happy that this place is now open in Edmonton and I am certainly conquered as a regular customer. Also, the employees speak French, so that business is very inclusive for francophones like me.
Extremely clean and friendly. Best original poutine in Edmonton. Fries were fully crisp, the gravy wasnt too salty and the cheese curds were squeaky fresh! Love it! The medium portion was huge!
Been here a couple times now, I love the poutine here. One thing I will say is I would recommend making the fries a bit crisper as I find them to get soggy very quick which is pretty normal for poutine, but this happens within 5 mins and to add a bit more selection. Service was really awesome, the lady was super friendly and getting my food was super quick and easy. Overall 8/10
Absolutely wonderful service! My husband and I come here every chance we get! The front staff is always so polite and quick to take our order. The kitchen staff always has our food ready within about 10 minutes! 10/10 Would recommend this place!Food: 5/5
