Maltby Cafe

A quaint little place to eat in the basement of a building in Maltby. Very busy place but the wait was short for 1.30pm on a Saturday. Lots of people leaving with take home containers intrigued us. Food was tasty but I wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes for a table here. It is more of a glorified greasy spoon type diner but much better than most of the places that serve breakfast near Mill Creek. Good basic food served on platters due to volume not quality. Breakfast served all day and the eggs came out hot and perfectly cooked. Staff is very nice, service was prompt and a minor error on our bill was fixed immediately.

Long wait for a table (about an hour) and had to wait outside because the waiting area was packed, but it was Sunday morning, so it wasn't a surprise since that's their busiest time. Totally worth it though! The food was fantastic, and I was very happy to see both egg sub and egg whites available on the menu. Classic "moms kitchen" style menu, and if you like cinnamon rolls, this is THE place to go.

Incredible food. Had a table of 8 and EVERYONE loved everything they ordered. We all ordered something different and ended up "tasting" from each other's plates and all of us liked everything! Also, the dish sizes were SO generous we had to get a "to go" box for every plate. Can't wait to go again.

So the food at Maltby Cafe is delicious. There is no denying that, but the lines are absolutely ridiculous. If you are willing to wait 45 minutes for a seat then you will likely not be disappointed with the food or service. I just don't know if it is worth the wait, relatively high prices and crowded dinning.

Maltby cafe is an absolutely wonderful place to come for breakfast! The food portions are huge, so while you're paying a bit more for what you get, the quality and portion size more than make up for it. If a friend is visiting from out of state this is where I'd first want to take them. The one downside to this cafe is how busy it is. You can wait for up to an hour trying to find seating, but that is a testament to how well known and loved this place is. Come early for seating, or on a weekday, and you should be just fine. Overall, and unbeatable breakfast!
