Found this hole in the wall-ish eatery. The food served is authentic Malaysian food. The dishes are delicious and the flavours are spot on. The service is adequate too. The only complaint is the portion size. They are relatively tiny for $15-$16. Last mention - the only drink options are water and coke.
Great little taste of Malaysia. The chef was quite accommodating to our party's needs as some has Gluten intolerances and adjusted a few of the items accordingly. The smells were wonderful, and the tastes reminded us of Malaysia. We had a birthday party celebration and everyone was impressed by the great variety and tastes that came from the Malaysian Hut!
We had a great experience here while dining in for dinner. Strike up a great conversation with Irene. If you’re looking for that authentic Malaysia taste that you have been craving for, then look no further. This is the place you have been looking for. Pro tip : Always call in advance to check if they are open for business.
Char Kway Tiao is what keeps me coming back here, the authentic taste that my husband and I crave. We also ordered the beef rendang and fishball noodle soup which are also really good ,I forgot to ask if we could change the noodle from vermicelli to egg noodle. I will try next visit. You have to take note that they only accept cash.
This is our first time trying malaysian food and it didn’t disappoint. The foods were fresh, tasty and portions are big. We ordered the Nasi Lemak , Mee goreng and Laksa soup. We will be coming back definitely.
the carb to meat/ vege ratio is totally unacceptable. Never been to a peace where they cut a prawn in half and pass it on as 1 too save$$. Quite unaccomodating as well when we brought this to their attention. Hainan chicken looks like it is made from a chicken kfc rejected as is too malnourished and feeble and it tastes like that is the case as well. If i wanted to carb up i would have gone home and made a pot of rice...
Their food is really good and very tasty! We had the Sarawak Curry Laksa and Char Kuey Teow! Both were really flavourful!
No services, food is cold! Chicken come from the fridge No cooking, Chow ‘mian is cold too. I’m not recommended it. It’s Cold cold cold food!! I told the cashier twice! She had excuses!
Irene is the owner and chef and her food is gorgeous. It's like stepping into your neighbour's home and being treated to fresh made on the spot meals. I love the chicken curry, it is the best in BC, trust me I have eaten a lot of places to explore Malaysian food and this is the beat so far. The food is typical Sarawak Malaysian food, one of the best regional food in Malaysia. Go. I highly recommend this time hidden spot, it is a gem.
We went for lunch yesterday and shared, the Roti Canai perfectly prepared crispy and chewy with good coconut curry dipping sauce, the savoury spiced chicken vermicelli rice noodles curry laksa perfect heat level and spices and Beef Rendang yummy sauce and tender beef brisket cubes, could have had less residual oil on the plate. All dishes prepared were excellent. Small seating restaurant but comfortable and welcoming. Had read good reviews and were not disappointed and will be returning. Passed on our recommendations to friends and relatives. Parking: Good front of restaurant spaces available.
