I graduated almost 1.5 years ago and I had a wonderful time here in Makami. First I am going to share my experience about instructors. I can't say enough about instructors. I love the way how they teach us, making learning fun with laugh and jokes here and there and I believe our cohort one of the craziest one but we did well. To all instructors, thank you and thank you.  Practicum. Well,unfortunately the facility we went for our 2nd practicum quite far from where I live and it is kind of scary waiting a bus alone at night between 9-10pm. I remember I had to wait over almost 45 minutes  almost 10pm alone because the bus just left when I arrived at the bus station. Before I left the facility I asked my instructor if she is driving passing by train station she said no. If I was the instructor I would drive my student to the station which 3 minutes drive and make sure my student safe. So my suggestion to instructors, if you know your students aren't driving even though you are driving home in the opposite direction please help your students make sure them waiting in a bright place especially if the station is 3 minutes drive. We aren't only talking about safety of client but make sure the safety of the students as well.  Learning Well if you want succeed you can't depend on your instructor,you have to be proactive, asking if you don't know and self study by readi g or making a group and discuss with your classmates. I used to send email to my instructors and my supervisor Kristina if I had questions.  I will not stop asking until I get the answer. Also as a student you can't just asking questions before you even trying. You have to try first, no matter how great  your instructor is ,she/he can't make you succeed or passing the exam if you aren't study. I passed all the exam and no problem because I studied hard so don't blame institutions or instructors if you fail in exam. None can safe you,only you can save yourself! There are lots of resources available for free, ESL. The Dean is also very helpful when you have disagreement with instructors, they will email you or call you as soon as you write the tickets.  All instructor were very helpful and always answered to all my questions. So when I read other reviews saying instructor not helping its hard to believe if it was true. My experience with Makami was great and after graduated the director from Edmonton office sent me an email and asked if I had a hard time finding a job or not.  Provincial Exam I agreed with the reviewer saying about the noises while taking Provincial exam. When I took my provincial exam, there were staffs talking loudly next to my room. I was really disappointed because when we taking the exam we have to be in a quite room. Exam preparation was amazing.  I love you Madame Cristine Aizen, thank you so much for your patience and your knowledge. You helped your students so much and again I just don't know how to express my gratitude for your dedication and patience. Overall I had a great time with Makami. I miss all of my instructors

I graduated in 2023, though I enjoyed the school for massage therapy, it seems like a scam, its very hard to find a job in massage , they dont tell you that. Its very hard to find practicums. I dont recommend going to school for massage therapy on my worst enemy, you most likely wont be busy with clients, takes a long time to build. I do not recommend this career to anyone!. Plus you have to pay over $30000 for the school and they dont tell you that. Just keep a heads up, go if you want, im just letting you know what the reality of massage is like and going to this school

I’m a student at Makami; trust me, I studied trough my life… the staff and teachers are fantastic people. No institution Is perfect, and nobody either; I don’t get where those bad reviews are from... The last one that that shocked me was the one that mentioned that they hired staff that are not perfectly fluent IN English. Well, they must meet the requirements to be hireable… for example, how many physicians chat with an accent because they are fluent in another language and are still qualified and allowed to practice in Canada?  I’m planning on completing other programs at the academy.  Ask for help, and they’ll help those who wrote the bad reviews, I believe, are ashamed to seek help. In every classroom and hallway, posters encourage you to seek help. It’s such a fun environment; the ones who wrote the reviews must not be Misinformed about many factors…they are awesome..the tutors and teachers, front desk staff. At least they don’t lie to and care about you, compared to other institutions.  Respectfully written You may find out that you are the issue... I’m just trying to be helpful; if you choose to enroll again, they’ll take you back. No I’m not paid to promote I’m a business owner in Calgary and don’t work at makami I have no intention on ever doing so..

I was a student, but i was going through a lot,been harrast,bullied in school, and even in the classroom. Someone threatened to kill me,and the teacher's never did anything about it,they were just looking for money,nothing else You guys should advise all students about each of everyone about gender's Gay,lesbian, and trans people's been facing through lot even in college Discriminating,harrastment, and bullied in class or school, nothing about it So that's what is going on at Makami College So disappointed

I really enjoy the atmosphere and support I receive. Massage Therapy instructors are great and always willing to assist. Erin my advisor is very hands on and very easy to reach when I need. I am always being motivated and encouraged when I'm feeling unsure. Adam in salt is awesome too

I recently graduated from the HCA program. Facility needs improvement: there is no destination testing centre I wrote my provincial exam it was loud and nobody cared there was an exam in progress in the Salt office, the direct entrance to the college should be completed because steping around people smokes drugs using IV drugs in plan site inside the mall entrance isn't safe environment I used to hate going to school on campus because of this. But at least the college part is clean ladies in housekeeping do a great job. Ladie that is in charge of the facility is vary nice and helpful. Recruiter who helped me with the template for my resume is top shelf wonderful person. SAS team replaced my original adviser and it was a good choice the new one is way more helpful and not overly friendly were I feel uncomfortable. HCA program Edmonton exam prep instructor also top notch she does a good job she is knowledgeable passionate wants  nothing but success everyone. Practicum 3 instructor wonderful person helpful, respectful, if I needed help she didn't make me feel like I was burden. Practicum 2 male instructor wonderful experience knowledgeable helpful and kind.  For the in person lectures the class say from 5 pm to 9 pm. they would give us a one hour break most days in the middle and send you home at 8:30 pm. If they didn't give an hour break and put for effort forth I probably wouldn't need to help so many of my class mates understand certain concepts. I have help student from July, September and November cohort with various thing such as signing up with the HCA directory which is mandatory but they are afraid to ask instructors for help. I have also heard they find it hard to access tutoring. I believe if instructors were more approachable they would have high first time success rate and Admin Smith in previous google review would feel like they wasted there time  Professionalism is part of the program but not always practice. Instructor would bring there personal baggage to school and it would affect there work. They also discuss there home life but to an extent we as students have enough stress put that energy into teach. Nursing ethics Justice is fair and equal treatment I didn't always observe this from instructors. I have seen instructor being catty and clickey I am too old for that non sense.  I don't credit the College as a whole for my success they four people I credit. I spent a lot of time working on this at home by myself.  Deen John was helpful with an accommodation for me.  Look hard when choosing a college more matters than free parking and proximity to home. Also if they say repeatedly you get a free IPAD guess what it not free it included in tuition and you pay for it.

Excellent service throughout. Welcoming front desk staff, beautiful seating area to fill out forms and wait for your massage therapist. My massage therapist was excellent from start to finish, she was friendly, great pressure, gentle when moving limbs to adjust the sheet. She’s going to do great when she’s done here! I went there to have a student massage. The student I had gave a wonderful massage.  Worth the 39.00 I spent for an hour.  After the massage is done you're given a sheet to comment on the student.

Makami College is not just a college, the care and kindness that I have received and still receiving at Makami College is unheard of. I am going through a number of struggles including a divorce and Makami College stood by me all the way. Their support and encouragement to see me through my program was sincere and amazing. They truly have the student's best interest at heart.
