Story

The Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corporation (MVEDC) was established in 1979, as a partnership between public and private interests focusing on the revitalizing and diversifying the economy of the Northeast Ohio region. Our goal is to help your business grow.

Since 1981, MVEDC has assisted hundreds of companies to obtain millions of dollars through the Small Business Administration and other loan programs. Located in Youngstown, our services not only extend to the Mahoning County, but to Trumbull, Ashtabula, Columbiana, Geauga, Portage and Belmont Counties in Ohio; and Lawrence, Mercer, Beaver and Franklin Counties in Pennsylvania. From MVEDC’s inception, our mission of building and diversifying the regional economy has remained unchanged — even as we continue to refine and reshape our programs to address the changing dynamics of our regional economy. We have assisted over 2,000 businesses, which have added or retained more than 19,000 jobs.

Mission

The Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corporation will continue to promote economic development and employment opportunities through business creation, expansion, and retention.

MVEDC will establish a diversified portfolio of loan programs; strengthen relationships with financial, educational, business, government, and development organizations, and establish a venture capital program to attract investors for new business opportunities.

MVEDC shall aspire to become the premier regional economic development organization.
