The food at this place is amazing! We got the vegetarian appetizer platter and the chicken 65. It was all perfectly cooked and the flavors are exceptional! We got the dinner for two combination platter with buttered chicken curry, buttered lamb curry, and chicken curry. It came with nan bread and rice and a dessert. For dessert we got the fried sweet cottage cheese balls. It was worth every penny. I totally recommend trying this place. The service was fantastic and the food extraordinary!
Great Indian cuisine in the heart of Madison, WI. Place is too busy, but authentic Indian food. Mulathowny Soup made of dhal was great. Nawarathna Korma was great too. Added cashew gave a nice creamy taste in the Korma. Highly recommend this place.
The food was so good & yummy.I’m HAPPY I tried Indian food for the first time on my birthday, but just before I left the restaurant i want to restroom to wash my hands it wasn't a pleasant experience’s the washroom made me sick. I wish if I can rate it ZERO. This is not Indian food it’s very bad and cooked in a cheap way. Service is also terrible. Eat McDonald’s better than this.
I don't understand why people complain about the service. It was fine, yes they are curt and to the point but that's no reason to term them bad service. We had no issues, service and food was fine. Servers answered our questions and helped us navigate the menu quickly. Would recommend doing some research on Indian food before coming here if you are new. Otherwise food was great!
BAD.! WORSE.!! WORST.!!! I dont have any other words to say about this restaurant. We family of 6 walked into restaurant who found out how rude and disgusting the staff working out there. We ordered chole bathure to try some North Indian food, here comes the twist. They brought only bhatura and when asked they said we should order chole also as a separate item. Are you serious.!??? We ordered dosa, then why brought some chutneys with it.?? I was utterly shocked to hear that, we need to order a combination item as separate order. They got pathetic attitude and zero customer service experience. Stay away from this restaurant. I will try my best to post my review in all platforms.
The worst Restaurant in town. We stepped in during lunch hours at 1:00pm only to see none of the staff greeting properly. There was only one lady who was too rude. And to our uttermost shock, all the people who prepare food were just sitting beside our table and eating instead of serving the customers. The lady came, took the order and again all of them were just giggling over the table for almost 30mins. We got the order once they were done giggling and the food was worst. We ordered Chicken Biryani and they literally gave us some Masala rice with 2 or 3 minced Chicken pieces here and there. Just the worst place. Avoid at all costs. Even after paying the bill they dnt even show gratitude.

The service was horrible, the servers were very rude and kept slamming the plates and the menus on the table. The sign says they open at 4:30 but they wouldn’t seat us until the whole party was there even though the restaurant was completely empty. Took them forever to take our orders. Made us feel like a burden on them and not guests.
I've been to India and had authentic homemade Indian food there from locals and my long term boyfriend's family is from India and they make me homemade authentic Indian food all the time. So, it's safe to say I know my Indian food. Not impressed. I think it has changed in the last 5 years, or maybe it just tasted better before I knew what authentic Indian food was like. Definitely isn't the best Indian restaurant in Madison and it is very different from authentic Indian food sub-par. My favorite place is Swagat. Amber Indian Cuisine is good too.
