Super chic Thai restaurant spot in Montreal; halfway self-service, we scan the menu then go order food at the cashier. They serve us at the table with friendly vibe and all style and decoration is Northern Thailand style. Honestly, my personal opinion the menu and advertised looks like they get an authentic lists but the taste is not quite actually like food in Thailand. Less spicy even I order Thai spicy, all noodles soup we get the soup quite watery, the way they make Rad Na noodles is weird, I mean the taste is not terrible but the way they make food is still like when foreigner makes Thai food Overall this place is pretty busy and I'm glad , my friends and I go early so we got the table right away. Food taste good and service is friendly.
A tiny gorgeous cozy Thai restaurant on Milton Street just a few blocks from McGill University. The staff is super kind, attentive, and really care about the customers. The moment you are seated you get to scan the menu and just pay for the food at the counter. Then they bring out the food which is beyond delicious. Whether you try the Pad Thai, Green Curry with Noodles, Pad See Ew everything is tasty and very well-made. We also tried the Hibiscus juice and it was beyond great. It's a perfect place to bring friends and have a wonderful time. It is definitely a 10/10 and I would highly recommend it to everyone : I'm coming back again and again for more.
→ The first Thai restaurant that I've been to in MTL → The food was tasty and well-seasoned. We got Thai Hainan fried chicken, Pad Thai Mae Sri, Beef & Pork set and Thai lemon tea. Our most favorite was the fried chicken, which was extremely crunchy outside and tender inside. Thai lemon tea was really fresh for summer and a cup of it was enough for a couple. → The staffs were very nice and friendly. The price was affordable. The decoration here was also beautifully presented and probably brought us the authentic Thai vibe. → HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Cozy and friendly place for a casual dinner. It’s a street food style and you pay first. The foods are good. The Thai tea was alright. The staff were friendly and chilled. Good to know: -1 point for lacking the allergies accommodation. Might be a bit tricky if you have peanuts allergy as they use the same frying oil for all deep fry items, so it was used to deep fry peanuts.
My niece suggested this place. She heard it was a cute place with a warm atmosphere. Well, I agree, very quaint. Unfortunately the ratio of protein versus rice and veggies were very off. For some of us that are vegetarian, they did not have much variety for the menu. This is not a “sharing” type of meal. They don’t offer appetizers that the table could share and salad lacked much for flavor. Cute place for a date… but otherwise , I would not go back. Sorry
I’ve been living in Montreal forever and can’t believe I’ve never been to Mae Sri! One step inside the resto, I knew it was going to be good. Was greeted warmly in such good ambient. The specialty here are soups and the variety of soups can be overwhelming! So many to try! We placed our order and paid at the counter and waited patiently for our soups. Thai papaya salad was light and a good starter. Then the soups, we ordered the kuai tiao tom yum soup which was hit! Tasty broth and good amount of seafood and shrimps! The dry soup named baa mee moo soup hit the spot for me. Delicious! Desert was a mango pudding which we devoured. Really There are vegan options as well. Really enjoyed our lunch!
The food were so so amazing! The restaurant was so professional. The staff were so friendly. The service was so fast. I must be come back this place. I wish you will have mango sticky rice in the menu! I beg you
Decent Thai place with affordable prices. Waiting staff was friendly and attentive. Food is good but not the best in Montreal. Seasoning for the pad see ew was a bit underwhelming but the appetizers were delicious. Great spot on the plateau.
[Food review below] This place is a beautiful gem. The decorations inside are elegant and yet heart warming. Their black painted walls are adorned with a beautiful golden lotus chandelier and a gold koi fish mural. The staff is incredibly nice and attentive. The seating area is small and they don’t take reservations. If you’re a large group try to go outside of rush hours. The is food is so exquisite and the flavours just melt in your mouth. It’s also very decently priced ~$10-30 per plate. Here is what I ordered: *some pictures are taken after I started eating* Fried chicken salad 20/10 - my fave dish. Very spicy but in an extremely flavourful way. It’s crunchy, savoury, a bit acidic. Very well balanced. After eating a couple of pieces, your mouth will start burning but super worth it! Green curry noodles 8/10 Delicious and fatty coconut curry taste, Noodles are a good texture, Meat is juicy but if you’re like me and don’t like boiled chicken then just give it to your friend and just have the curry broth. Still worth it. Thai braised beef soup 8/10 Deliciously rich broth with very aromatic flavours, awesome toppings the pork balls are super soft and delicate in flavour. Spicy for those who can’t handle chilli flakes. Braised beef is tender and good but if you’re like me and don’t like braised beef think of similar texture in bœuf bourguignon then order the noodle soup with beef. Papaya salad 7/10 Good and refreshing. Didn’t blow my mind. Mae Sri fried rolls 8/10 Good flavour, very crunchy. Nice to eat. Hibiscus juice 0/10 and 7/10 I was expecting your regular hibiscus juice that’s light, refreshing, with a mildly sweet flavour think Caribbean hibiscus juice. Boy the Thai version is soooo different. It’s a bit syrupy and salty and sweet. It wasn’t for me 0/10 but my parents found it interesting 7/10. Up to you to decide! Conclusion: this place has amazing food. Come spoil your loved ones with a taste of Thailand :
Delicious papaya salad, and the beef soup was tasty though it felt more peppery than chilli-spice. The Thai milk tea tasted authentic, but there were just too many tea leaves at the bottom that were not properly strained/ removed and interfered with the drink. The Tom yum noodle soup was disappointing in that it doesn’t taste like what one would expect for Tom yum.
