After one bite I knew I was going to leave a glowing review. I hardly ever get a chance to stop in here, but plan to try to every chance I get after today’s delicious meal. My husband and I both ordered chicken schnitzel and I got mine with a side Greek salad. Everything was fresh and homemade, and perfectly cooked. The salad dressing, the side of cranberry sauce, the mashed potatoes, the gravy. Fresh green beans. Yummy crispy coating. Even topped with some baby greens. Best meal I’ve had in a long time, made me realize I don’t eat enough home cooked meals. Oh, and also the first time in probably two years that we both ate for under $60. Including homemade cherry pie for dessert! Amazing.
We moved up to the Port Franks area spring of 23. We were in Chatham where you cannot find anything even close to the exceptional service we received from Debbie, our waitress at MacPherson’s. The food is good, however it was the service that is memorable, Debbie’s kind and warm upbeat personality left a lasting impression. Our first time here was fish & chips which were good and again Debbie was our server and she was so kind and welcomed us to the neighborhood. It was a wonderful experience our first time. So when the discussion came up about Thanksgiving and what would I like to do, I knew one thing for sure, I didn’t want my wife working all day in the kitchen preparing a thanksgiving dinner and then trying to relax and enjoy it. Going to MacPherson’s for Thanksgiving made much more sense to me. Great decision!! Thank you Debbie!!
See that little salad in the pic? With the 8 pieces of cubed chicken? I put the banana there for size perspective. $13.00 before tip. And to top it off, the dressing was blue cheese, not Ceasar. Now I like the people there. Always nice. And I've eaten there before with decent portions. But after calling them and being told this was how their Caesar comes, it'll be my last purchase there.
Stopped in for lunch on our way home from the Dollar General Christmas Store & was pleasantly surprised by their eggs Benedict options! My sister got the salmon Benny & I got the crab cake which we then shared. Both were very delicious, but I personally preferred the crab cake one! The service was great & the restaurant is pretty small & is always busy so I would recommend going during an off time of day or calling ahead especially during the summer
Great Mother’s Day breakfast! I am so happy we went to McPherson’s for breakfast. The staff is lovely, our server Margret was so experienced and diligent. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. They greeted us with complimentary mimosas for moms!! As a new GB local I will be going back for sure!
Stopped by for dinner on Labor Day. We were surprised. We didn't have to wait long to be seated, and the waitress was so friendly. The food came quickly and was delicious. I recommend to try the Fish dish, and I will definitely go back again for this dish.Food: 4/5
Absolutely horrible!!! Ordered the chicken schnitzel and so did my husband. While his was fine mine was not! I could not put a knife though it. When I brought it to the attention of waitress she took it brought it to kitchen and came back to tell me the kitchen staff tried to cut it and were shocked, they could not it was so tough. The waitress offered me another meal but I was so turned off I said I would take a dessert. When the bill came the waitress told me she had been instructed by her manager to charge for the meal the meal I could not eat and kitchen crew agreed and give me the dessert. I will never eat here again and do not recommend
Fabulous Pickerel Dinner. Very filling and delicious. Lemon pepper....I usually so not like fish, but this was superb! Better than the perch I had last time. Healthy option with veggies and mashed or baked potatoe. Sadly, no room for dessert...but we did take lovely pie home for later...when we had room to eat it. Staff was excellent and attentive. Not too busy. We could sit and have a conversation with the volume of people around us. Lovely spot. A nice finish to the long weekend. Vegetarian options: A few pescatarian options. No vegan that I could see on the menu.
3 stars is being generous, but seeing an overworked staff that is shorthanded as well, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. You are greeted when you walk in and told to go find a seat. You find one, and it there is no menu or other greeting. Our server finally came, took our drink and food order. The soup and salad came before our drinks. The Jalapeño cheddar soup was very spicy, which would have been fine, but it should have had more cream or cheese. It was slightly separated. I needed a drink, but I didn't get one for a bit, so I choked a couple of times. The schnitzel was good - not unreal, but good. Liked the mashed potatoes and gravy. A few of the green beans were overcooked. My wife had fish and chips. I guess tarter sauce only comes if asked for, which we had to. She liked it ok, thought the fries were good. I had some compassion on our server when I realized she was basically waiting on the whole restaurant - 2 large rooms. She was a little short, but not rude, and I understood why. She was working very hard, and we appreciated it. The food did come out quickly, so kudos to the cooks. The checkout was a mess, too. 3 teens trying to handle the gas station, convenience store, and restaurant. It's kind of a disorganized mess. At least they were friendly.
Great food, portion size and prices! The only negative is that I had the Eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce had separated, so there were oily parts. However, it was still delicious.Food: 5/5
