I give it a 2 because the site is beautiful, there are bathrooms and showers, and wood available to purchase on site. However, the photos are deceiving. While the beach is beautiful, don't plan on swimming as it's not sand just large rocks. There is not a large fire pit and picnic table at every site our fire pit was almost non existent and there was not a table available unless we took it from another site. We reserved a site with electric but it wasn't offered to us until I complained that I wasn't getting what I reserved. We were able to get electric because someone else that was gone was unplugged by management. There is not water at all sites as the website states. Sites are not spaced out as shown, and tent campers are pretty much on top of each other. Good luck being able to get in and out of our camp site if you want to leave to do anything. Just because you can get out, doesn't mean you can get back in depending on if more people have been crammed in. Very crowded. No idea what they consider a 200 ft. common area for everyone to enjoy because the gazebo is used as the office for check in. Website states access to Mackinaw water parks. I know nothing about this.
Phenomenal campsite with beautiful lake view! Plenty of spacious campsites each with firepits and picnic tables, pristine swimming beach and clean bathrooms with showers. There are also electrical hookups accessible to each site. We got to pick out our campsite and chose a picture perfect spot right on the beach, campers can pick from a variety of sun/shade spots. Walt was so helpful and knowledgeable with recommending local and not so local attractions. We planned on staying one night but ended up staying two because it was just that great! 10/10 would highly recommend and cannot wait to return!
Decided to stay here because of the negative reviews, plugging in more than one hair dryer or even one has never been a requirement for us camping. We got a nice spot on the water, fell asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. Owner is very laid back and trusting. Overall we had a great experience. I would stay here again for sure, but for us just having a bathroom available is a luxury site.
Nice place with plenty of sites on grass. RV camping as well as tent. Owners were easy to work with and pleasant! They have firewood for sale and fire rings everywhere. The waves are wonderful when drifting off to sleep. One of my favorite locations!
We spent about a week here are Robert's Landing. We were so happy with our experience. The views are AMAZING. We got to pick out our own site, and relax. Everyone respects their own space and we did not have any problems. The manager is very accomodating and kind. He is very laid back and really lets you do your own thing. It is great for a family or a group of friends. It is a smaller campsite so there are not many people,, so it stays pretty quiet at night closer to the lake. We plan to go back in October! You are able to see Mackinac Island right from the campground. The bridge is lit up beautifully in your view. We even saw the northern lights!
Walt got us in the campground on shirt notice all the while a boat was sinking and he was doing his best to accommodate us and others. Was very chaotic after the storm, he still managed to get us in for the night and we really enjoyed our stay gorgeous beach kind folks, that last minute spot was a life saver in a jam our motorhome couldn't go over the bridge in the high winds. Thanks for your kindness
In these amazing pictures of the office you can see the employees and owners of the establishment drinking on the job! We reserved a spot 2 months ago and as we showed up we were introduced to our campsite with absolutely no room for even one tent and no electricity even though we had marked we would like to have electricity. After we asked if anything could be done we were told maybe and prior to that we were met with disrespect. They refused to cooperate the entire time so we said, see ya! Don't recommend this place at all!!!
I don't know what campground a lot of these reviews refer to but they weren't the one we stayed at this past weekend. When we pulled into the campground everything seemed okay. That's where it stopped. There was a pit bull running around and the the dude that runs the place wasn't even there. His brother said the pit was a campground dog and we very friendly and not to worry about him. This dog ran loose but the website said we had to tie our two dogs up. If that dog came near our site we would have kicked him in the lake. After we got situated at our campsite everything seemed okay until we went for showers. Bathroom had hot water but was the only thing good about it. Mold and rust all over shower stalls. Stall curtains looked like they were new 1975. No fans in bathrooms so very foggy and humid, no wonder there was mold and stuff in them. Another wonderful asset was the camp office. Website said this was supposed to be a yurt for family use. When I went in to talk to the dude running the place I noticed lots of beer cans, empty cigarette packs and who knows what else all over the place. The place reeked of smoke both cigarette and campfire in the middle. When my wife and I went to the beautifuly adorned bathhouse we had to pass by the yurt that had numerous loud people in it partying. Doesn't seem like a very good family atmosphere. Later the same evening or morning around 2:00 am we heard a large commotion coming from a campsite maybe 25 ft away. Yelling, screaming and fighting for a considerable amount of time. Somebody called the police and numerous individuals were taken away in two sheriff or police cruisers. These people had been drinking and partying all day and nobody from the campground put an end to it. Not sure if the guys running the place we're part of the party. Certainly not the place to bring family. The only reason we stayed at this campground was because we stayed there 10 yrs or so back and it was extremely nice. Apparently new owners have come in about 3 yrs ago and the whole place has gone downhill ever since. Will never stay here again and will not recommend to anyone. Too bad because this was an excellent campground. The price was okay, probably because they have nothing to offer. If I could give a minus star rating I would. Oh yeh, they don't have any wi-fi and the internet service on your phone is spotty.
I camped here not too long ago, and to be honest it was okay as a last resort. Our family arrived fairly late, around 9 pm and we checked in at their outdoor “office.” Upon entering we were dismayed at the disorganization and unwelcoming demeanor of the staff. This continued throughout our stay. Once checked in, I was taken on a golf cart ride through the grounds while my partner stayed at the office alone - odd. Neighbors were rude and staff did nothing when neighbors stole our picnic table. We were offered firewood but couldn’t even use it because it was wet. Staff have asked for good reviews in exchange for free firewood… Don’t believe the five star reviews!
Love love love Roberts Landing! Staff is friendly and very accommodating! The view is amazing and it’s so peaceful and quite at night! Family friendly, pet friendly, great for a group of friends also! A bonus, it’s only 10 minutes to Mackinaw City! You also have a beautiful view of Mackinac Island where you can clearly see the beautiful Grand Hotel! Definitely coming back again! See you in October!
