Machine Shed Restaurant Appleton

Stopped in to grab a bite. Food was great. Been to all 5 of this chains restaurants and they are consistently good. Didn't know there were only 5, but the gentleman on the front desk and I got talking and I was surprised to be familiar with all the locations! This one used to be a favorite when I worked in the area, so stopping in was an easy choice when back in the area! Good food, served hot. Love the fixin's.

My turkey sandwich was so good. My sister had their salad bar. We were both very happy. The service is always excellent. Our waitress was very good.

The best ribs in the Valley, great staff. $13.99 all you care to eat. Wonderfully smoked all the way through, fall off the bone ribs complimented with fresh creamy cole slaw, beans, cottage cheese and three types of bread.

I used to hear how amazing this place was so we have gone here twice now within six months and it's ordinary. Maybe it's just been so hyped up to me that I was expecting more. Not sure if there was a management change but no greeter at door for at least five minutes. There was a guy waiting for a to go lunch that you could tell was irritated. Waitress seemed a bit miffed when she came to our table when she was told we had a 11 and 8 year old and we had a two year old she just rolled her eyes like this guy is clueless. Our waitress was very nice. The other people in the restaurant had that classic kitchen nightmare stare on their faces that you see on tv when people are waiting for their food. Just seems like a place on a downward trend rather than up.

The food was good. The service was ok. When we got there we were told there was about a 5 minute wait despite having about 8 tables available and open in the main dining area. After a 10 to 15 minutes not letting anyone in I talked to the hostess. She said they were waiting for 2 large groups to show, which never came in while we were there. Finally the manager came out and asked why they were backed up in the lobby at which time they started seating people. My wife and I have been to Machine Sheds in other cities and like them very much. We brought friends with us who have never been to a Shed before. They were very unimpressed and said they probably not go to another one. This location was by far very below average to our past experiences with other Machine Sheds. We will not be going back to this location.
