A great campus! All of their buildings are connected so you don't have to go outside. It's well maintained.
In general one of the most unhelpful schools I have ever interacted with, not only do they take months for reply to emails regarding admissions but even finding help from this university is impossible. They only want to help you if you come in person, never respond to emails even ones that involve them offering a refund to me regarding their mistake of giving me acceptance into a program I was not eligible for.nnAfter offering me a refund they cold Turkied me and disappeared, stopped replying to emails and even the info email and registry emails state they will not help me and they will respond in rotation to my response email months ago.nnIn general I feel as though MacEwan is a diploma mill destined to take money from you anyway they can.nnOther schools I have applied to have the ability to respond within 24 hours, this school is not some prestigious university that they make it out to be.nOverall I would not recommend this school or anyone trying to invest in education for themselves, so far they have taken my money and given me nothing.
Nothing's going to change on this. Someone says somethingnI already made a complaint about this and I submitted to grant McEwen And they submitted to the indigenous.nI'm tired of indigenous men being the spiritual leaders/ helpers of our ceremonies and spiritual aspects because they are so domineering, toxic and ego driven. You can attend ceremonies but it is as though social responsibilities, the elevated social status, and the success is getting to them. Nobody talks about this, especially if you're nobody in the indigenous world. Everybody thinks that they're super nice because they're paid into those positions. But when you see them in reality they'll go out of their way to ignore you. I was raised in ceremony and I'm a woman and all I see is passive aggressive behavior, bruised egos, competitive behavior, going other way to suppress me/ and my actions, and I have to deal with all the abusive behavior in the ceremony life from men. If you're going to have indigenous men be speakers in your facilities let them be trained and mindful of their presence and their understanding their connection to the community. Don't let their success get to their head. This should go with every person who is a speaker regardless if they're indigenous or non-indigenous.. because I'm tired of seeing these Dynamics play into the indigenous community and because I am nobody to them, I am I'm somebody. I'm speaking about this because I am a indigenous female raised in ceremony And I'm in these spaces putting myself In harm's Way and my children seeing the impacts of these behaviors. I'm tired of them saying that they're supportive and they're healing and their leaders in our communities but doing stupid behaviors because no one sees it . No one sees how these indigenous men who are speakers in Grant McEwen who are paid quite a bit how they treat us women. How they tree us in and out of ceremony. There isn't going to be any change if you don't make the change. Having these policies and procedures and the indigenous Community student support recognize the fact that there's an issue without making the changes
I am currently taking my second course at MacEwan University, and it has been a very positive experience so far. The instructors are supportive, the learning environment is great, and the resources available to students really help with studies. I appreciate how well the courses are organized and the focus on practical learning.
This building is amazing. It’s been around for a while and at the time it was built it was a college but now is a university. The university is attended by many students, hard to imagine but hey that’s what it is here for. I personally have not attended but I work downtown and have passed through this building many times over the years and have always enjoyed the experience.
