Macatawa Bank

Terrible bank. Horrible customer service. My high school daughter has a part time job for which she gets paid once a month. The checks she receives are written from Macatawa Bank, and up until yesterday, she had no trouble cashing them. (forgot to mention she does not have an account at Macatawa). Suddenly now Macatawa Bank is charging people to cash checks that are drawn from THEIR bank. Seems odd to me and it makes me angry because my daughter is working very hard for her money and to have $5 taken for the simple fact of greed just makes me SICK. NEVER will we ever have accounts here. NEVER. Terrible horrible bank that is intent on making money, not on helping their customers.

In comparison to other branches this location is a mess. Any expectation of consistency in regards to banking policy is hopeful at best. Would not recommend for attempting to cash any document in which money is entitled for you. You may find luck for any instance in which simple adding and subtracting are involved, but otherwise I find the ATM or any other branch to be infinitely more helpful. As a past frequenter of this location i'm sure the apparent turn-over rate doesn't help their case. I now just drive further out of my way - which, actually, end's up being a quicker and more pleasant experience anyway. - Someone who was in there at least once a day for years until the last few.
