One visit to Luna Junction and we already felt like we were being treated like regulars. This is a beautiful space that's equally delightful for weekend brunch as it is for a few local beers at night at the bar. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Bonus points for also playing great music.Food: 5/5
Such a staple restaurant we have in Toronto. The seafood here is superb, whether it's the quality or the flavour. I simply can't get enough! I need to be back for more! Oh and the hospitality! Had the chance to briefly say hi to the owner, what a pleasure :
This is one of my favorite restaurants for brunch in the Junction area. The pancake and the steaks and eggs are fantastic! Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in the Junction!
So glad we stumbled on to this restaurant for brunch! I've been looking for a great spot in the neighborhood with gluten free and healthier options for eating out. Also love that their meat is from Ontario farmers and hormone/antibiotic free. I'll definitely be back for dinner and oysters sometime soon!
One of the best brunch in junction area. Mediterranean inspired meals. Staffs are very friendly. Inside is clean and cozy. Bit pricey but worth spending because of food quality
Brought my friends here before they moved out west. Everyone loved their food! The monk fish rice stew was flavorful and filling. Wine selection was fantastic. Service was on point. So happy that we came here for my friends’ last restaurant meal!
Like all the best stories, this one begins with an octopus. While scouting for our next great dining adventure, my wife stumbled across Luna quite by accident. Drawn in by the stunning website imagery and the tantalizing Mediterranean fare, our fate was ultimately sealed by the sighting of a particular dish: Polvo a Lagareiro — grilled Portuguese octopus with black-eyed peas, sautéed greens, and garlic herb pesto. With my wife’s birthday celebration imminent, we had no choice but to give Luna a try and we were so glad we did! From the cosy, intimate atmosphere, to the friendly and efficient serving staff thanks Cait! to the warm and approachable owner, Tom, and his chef-wife Bernie, it was the perfect storm of dining pleasures. My wife did, indeed, have the Polvo a Lagareiro and I was allowed a taste; tender and well-seasoned, it did not disappoint! But don’t feel too sad for me as I had chosen a winner of a dish for myself: Bitoque — a 10 oz striploin topped with crispy prosciutto and a fried egg, served with a green salad. For a small additional fee, I opted for the crispy potatoes instead of the sweet potato chips, but I don’t think I could have gone wrong either way. My steak was cooked to perfection — medium rare, toward rare, just the way I ordered it — and was well-seasoned in the best of ways. The prosciutto added a wonderful texture while the fried egg a common Portuguese addition, I’m given to understand lent the dish a certain indulgent richness. We had skipped the appetizer to ensure we had room for dessert we can rarely work in three courses and were not disappointed. My wife had the Lemon Cheesecake while I had the Chocolate Torte. Both offered the perfect amount of decadence on which to end our meal — sated without being stuffed. And as we watched as patrons filled in the seats around us and quietly settled into Luna’s abundant comforts, it suddenly became clear that this hidden gem had only been hidden from us, as the rest of the world seemed to be in on its secrets. But it’s a secret no more and we will definitely be returning to sample more of Luna’s treasures. Thanks so much to Tom, Bernie, Cait, and the wonderful kitchen and support staff for a great evening!
Visited for brunch. Very welcoming. The food didn't match its description very well though. The mushroom hash was much closer to arugula salad with potatoes. It was good but not what one would expect. Also my wife's Benny was cold.
Perfect night out in the junction. Luna was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The services was a delight and the food was absolutely incredible. They deserve every star.
Came here for dinner a few weeks ago and food was decent. My complaints are: 1. Service was VERY slow. 2. We were seated at a tiny bistro table that barely had any room for our drinks. 3. The patio was dark and cold. 3. Our sausage was undercooked. Other than that, the steak, chicken hearts and mojito were delicious!
