The salads are really small, really more of a garnish than a salad. The portions are large and filling. The food is delicious and very well made. The service is quick and attentive. Our cups were constantly being refilled. The restaurant is small and fills up quickly. It is well decorated with lots of nice artwork and fun lighting. For those who are sound sensitive be aware the restaurant gets very loud when it gets full.
A friend and I decided we wanted Italian food for dinner and we looked at this place which was fairly close to our hotel and let me tell you we still talk about this food because everything was so good. The salad was a perfect size and had homemade Caesar dressing the bread and the Olive oil just melt in your mouth it was so delicious and then the pasta was a lot of pasta and it was so good and homemade, delicious. A little pricey but treat yourself, it's worth it.
I loved the atmosphere, our server was very kind, and the food was amazing! The bread and salad were a wonderful starter. Our entrees were delicious and all our food felt like it was homemade and cooked with love. Tiramisu was my favorite! Can’t wait to come back.
Excellent: the bread, the portion sizes, the Caesar dressing! Average: all four different entrees we tried were nearly the same red sauce and fettuccine and a meat, and maybe they were out of gnocchi tonight? I think we were given penne instead. No big deal. Cozy food. Questionable: got an order of cheesecake which was inexplicably sitting in what seemed to be chocolate milk?
Phenomenal food and service! Fresh baked bread with oil was on point. The photo was the Luna special which was amazing. Kids got the meatball pameseana which was outstanding too. Highly recommend for authenticity and service! The portions are very generous too.
Open the door to this hidden Bloomington gem and step into the world that is Luna Di Luna. This boutique, traditional Italian restaurant is perhaps the most incredible italian food I have eaten since my days growing up in the Italian neighborhoods on the upper East Coast. The food is prepared from scratch, mixed with delicate flavors, and delivered with bold expectations. During dinner service, each main course comes with a fresh salad and the most wonderful homemade bread you have ever tasted. As Italian music plays in the background, the charm and warmth of this little restaurant instantly transport you into another time altogether. Their wine selection is top-notch with other beverages available upon request. Don't be alarmed by the simplicity of their menu. Trust me, food doesn't need to be complicated, and Luna Di Luna serves just the right selections to satisfy any craving you might have. After speaking with the owners, I had the chance to learn that every dish is made from fresh ingredients. Whether you are looking for a robust dish with red sauce or their silky smooth savory alfrado dishes, Luna Di Luna will have your mouth singing amorè, amorè. And don't forget desert. Most restaurants these days serve desert as an afterthought. Not Luna Di Luna. Their Teramasu is to die for. Made with layers of Italiany goodness and drizzled with chocolate liquor, this made- in-house desert will melt your heart as each bite explodes with flavor. Luna Di Luna is priced slightly more than your average Italian chain restaurant, and it should be. The owners take immense pride in what they serve. What you get in return, however, is a meal and experience you will brag about for a long time.
The decor reminded me of buca di bepo. The server was kind, but she brought me the wrong item and I felt too bad to send it back. I wish they had a larger menu. The food tasted fine. The bread and oil was probably my favorite thing I ate.
Wonderful! Don’t let the simplicity of the menu deter you. The pastas are amazing. They brought us delicious warm bread with oil when we got there, then brought out super yummy Caesar salads, and then we ordered our pastas. Friendly service and such a warm, cozy atmosphere! All in all a delightful experience. We will be back!
A nice family style restaurant with personalized decor . All pasta dishes are served with a salad and a very tasty bread with olive oil. The pasta is appropriately hot when it arrives. Cooked to perfection.Food: 5/5
As authentic as is humanly possible best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. You can tell it’s a labor of love and not only a profit venture. What a privilege to have eaten and experienced this restaurant.
