Story

Welcome to Love & Buttercream! We are a bakery business with two locations...Royal Oak and Birmingham, Michigan. We specialize in classic American baked goods with a twist and nostalgic favorites reinvented. We bake everything from scratch using local and organic ingredients whenever possible. We hope to build relationships and ties with customers, vendors, businesses, and friends to create a stronger Detroit, one pastry at a time.

I used this place ALL THE TIME - UNTIL....... We tried to place an order for just 24 cookies - 2 weeks later - still no confirmation - The only reason I had any response at all is because I called to check on my email not once but twice. Really - you guys have to do better at customer service! Long story short I did not place an order for my son's 5th birthday and I will not be going back. If I could give less than 1 star I would 🚫

I can't believe this bakery has 3.9 stars overall. I think they're phenomenal. Best cake I've ever had in my life! They replicated my in-laws wedding cake for their 35th wedding anniversary and it was magical. My mother-in-law cried when she saw it.

All three cakes that I have ordered have been slightly frozen in the middle. And yes, each time I brought the cakes home I would leave them out rather than put it in the refrigerator. We ordered a variety of mini desserts and a cake for a our wedding and it was quite underwhelming. I emailed and hand delivered photos of the wedding cake that I wanted and the end product looked nothing like the photos. As for the mini desserts, we ordered the amount that the bakery recommended for our number of guests; however, it just didn't seem like enough. Our dessert table looked very barren, and it was embarrassing.

Amazing locally owned bakery! Their lattes are FANTASTIC! Best latte I have ever had, the regular ones and the seasonal! Their macaroons and cinnamon rolls are delicious, the best I've ever had! They also have a good savory roll if you don't want a sweet treat! Very friendly staff too :) they also have vegan options! The pistachio honey bar is very yummy for a healthier option too!! Easter menu is so adorable and Yummy! Cadberry cookie cups are to die for!
