Louie's Char Dogs

This small, fast-casual restaurant with a seemingly simple concept has HUGE flavor. My boyfriend and I both ordered a Chicago Style Char Dog, which the owner/chef Andy highly recommended to us. Mine was the vegetarian version, which uses Field Roast brand vegan meats, and because the Chicago dogs are smaller, I ordered a "double dog" meaning two dogs in one bun. I also opted in for the brioche bun rather than the vegan bun, which is smaller. I'm glad I was hungry because that was the longest hot dog bun I've ever seen. The bun was very tasty and fresh! And the combination of flavors and textures elevated hot dog eating to a level I didn't expect. The hot dog was charred to perfection, and I loved allll the toppings. My boyfriend and I also shared the seasoned fries, which were some of the tastiest I've ever had! Not too salty. The seasoning had a nice paprika-ish flavor, and with the medium size we still had quite a bit leftover. We also shared a medium bowl of vegan chili, which is some of the best I've had! It's made with crumbled vegan meat and beans, so the meaty texture was really nice. I think I'd add some hot sauce to give it some spice next time, which is to say that I will definitely be back! The menu is VERY big, so don't get too overwhelmed. If Andy is there, he will happily give you suggestions! The vegan/vegetarian options are nearly equal to the meat ones, which is very nice to see. Gluten free buns available too! I also really suggest you eat in to taste how good a fresh dog can taste. Great family owned place. I hope to meet Louie someday. ;

Went in 5 pm on Friday. Yes there was only one guy taking orders and making food. Yes, it was cold in the place. Yes it took 25 minutes to get 1 burger, 2 Chicago dogs and a large fry. Yes, he forgot the Slurpies. But he came out to ask how the food was and got the Slurpies. But one of the 11 year olds I was with said it was the best burger he ever ate. But the other 11 year old said it was extremely good product. But I think it was one of the best tasting Chicago dogs I've had. So, if you can chill out and relax, you'll be supporting a small business that has alot of potential.

Lived in five states, its not easy to find somewhere like this place. Andy is a professional chef and its just incomparable how he plays with the tastes and material for a unique experience. Their Chicago style hot dogs are delicious, same as their steak sandwiches and burgers. Best burgers with best meat and just about $10. Highly recommend this place!

Visiting from Chicago and absolutely LOVED your burgers and dogs! So delicious! The kids and us adults just enjoyed it so much. The worker was awesome and so kind! Wish I grabbed his name. And we even got to try the soup! Sooo good! Can't wait to visit again!

Great place! Such good food, and they allowed us to edit our food some, such as adding sauerkraut to their Maxwell Style hotdog! So good! Butter burger melts in your mouth. I could eat here everyday. Plus, Slushees!

Great food & Service! I had the Korean Burger and it was amazing. The ingredients were all fresh and the burger was so good . While dining, I had a great conversation with Andy and Rose who run the place. They were very friendly and made me feel welcome. I cannot say enough good things about the people and food here. I highly recommend checking this spot out!

Last night my boyfriend and I were hungry after a comedy show that ended pretty late. Seeing this place was around the corner and still open, we gave it a try! We did have to wait a little while due to short staffing- which we totally understand! Everyone let me tell you, the wait was worth it! The fries we got in the combo were crispy, the dogs were filling and delicious. I got the Chili Mac Char Dog, totally recommend! I love how they used a hoagie roll for the bun so when you took a bite it wouldn’t fall apart. Yeah the down fall is there’s a bit of a wait when receiving food but at the end patients is key and was totally worth it! Give this place a try! Also, great job to the older gentleman that worked Monday night! Parking: It was pretty late when we arrived so no one was in the spots maybe 6-8 parking slots available

So I googled food near me to see what I would like to try . I came across this place with the great reviews, the pictures looked good, and me and my boyfriend decided to try it. So, I called today at 5:37 pm to place my order and I was told 30 mins. We walked in 27 mins in and he was just now making our food and it took another 30 mins to get our food. I saw him out raw steak in the microwave to heat up and he kept looking back at me to see if I was watching. Fries were stale and super salty and the sandwiches just sucked. FOOD LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THESE PICTURES!

One star is way too many! This place is horrible. It is so deep fried and greasy all you taste is old grease. The fish is is hard as rock. Either the cooks were having a bad day or they don’t know how to cook. The birria on a bun has no flavor except for old grease. The consume looks like pond water and taste like watery pickle juice. The "vegan dog" is literally a carrot slathered in relish and soggy jalapeño on a Kroger hot dog bun. Do yourself a favor and please stay as far away from here as possible.
