Lou Malnati's Pizzeria
"About Lou Malnati's PizzeriaConsidered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati's is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940's working in Chicago's first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati's Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago's best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday."

10/21/22: I don't know if there's new management or new bakers in the kitchen but our Chicago pizza today was terrible. I received an abomination of a pizza consisting of a super hard crust, a weird watery moat developing near the edges, and a giant circular slab of Italian sausage lightly doused with cherry tomato sauce and heavy handed garlic with unmelted cheese. I can tell it's likely frozen and you've somehow baked it wrong! Adjust your freezer or oven at least. It's bad enough to think this is frozen and it's even worse to know I could have done better at home. Jeez.
It is -2 degrees. We ordered a deep dish "Lou", and a Malnati salad. The Pizza was hot and delicious, the salad was loaded with toppings. THANKS!
In town from out of state and was told by family that live here that Lou Malnati's is great pizza. Well based on my experience it's awful. Based on reading reviews maybe it is just this location but either way I'm not impressed and felt like I truly wasted $85 on 2 pizzas and wings. The pizza was mushy but the outer crust was hard enough to cut diamonds, the sauce was flavorless and the pizza just didn't taste like there was any seasoning. I ordered a Deep Dish the Lou which according to the website does not include meat. Well ours had sausage and I do not eat pork so of course I was irritated because I could not even eat the pizza. It was almost 10p so I did not bother trying to make a complaint and get a new pizza, so I just ate the chicken. Overall very unimpressed and disappointed.
Very good place, always on time with the pizzas I order.
Yesterday I had a friend in town from another country. I asked what American food she wanted to try. She said deep-dish. I ordered a small cheese for the two of us. I've had a lot of seep dish in my life. This was by far the worst. I think they sold us one of their frozen pizzas heated in their oven. Either that or it was day old crust. It was so hard you couldn't cut it with a steak knife. The sauce was also very watery. I'm happy to spend $15 on a small pizza, but no a frozen one. Get it together. What a disappointment. I literally had to apologize to her
As much as I like the pizza I’m tired of the games they play for delivery. I live under 4 miles away from this location and however the manager on staff feels that day is whether or not I get it delivered. However, the place NEXT door Pyramid Pizza delivers every time. EVERY TIME. This past attempt to get dinner, I am on a self quarantine due to the pandemic we are all facing and they STILL refused to deliver. This is the worst customer service for. DELIVERY restaurant. Terrible. Very disappointed. And I’m saddened that this won’t even matter. I’ve left a message on their website. Let’s see how concerned they really are. If I could give “0” stars I would. I’ve had it with this place. Update, in less than 24 hours since leaving the review the manager Sergio called me to apologize and rectify the problem. The Monday following I also received an email from Michelle from their corporate office. They’ve heard my concerns and have promised to make sure I get delivery service. 1 week following these interactions I ordered again and they gave me zero problems with delivery and didn’t question my location. Thank you for hearing me out and correcting the service issue with me. I’ve changed my review status back to 5 stars. Communication and commitment to your customers are key ingredients. Thank you.
Ordered around just before 10pm, I felt like I was given a lazy quality pizza. I usually love Lou's but not this time. The deep dish pizza was half the thickness and they skipped on the top tomato sauce for good amount of the pizza. The butter crust was not properly added on, the pizza wasn't very much flavored..
I landed from California starving and decided to order via GrubHub. After waiting for an hour for my food I call the restaurant and find out they never received the GrubHub order. Frustrated, I place the order directly with the restaurant. They then take another 90 minutes to deliver my small pizza and chicken wings! Food was ok but the experience sucks. Delivery guy was nice.
Ordered 1 medium deep dish pizza for delivery tonight. It came 15 minutes past the quoted delivery time which is annoying but not a deal breaker. The pizza was also luke warm but again not the main issue. The real problem was the delivery driver who called and asked what apartment I was in I made sure this was included in my delivery address and checked it was on the receipt next he asked me to meet him downstairs when the delivery instructions specify to bring it upstairs. I obviously told him no and that he had to bring it up so he tossed my pizza box at me. I wouldn't have tipped 20% if I wanted a poor delivery. He should be terminated.
The food was amazing the best pizza I ever hadFood: 5/5
