Lost Dog Cafe

We stopped by the Lost Dog Cafe for a quick lunch on our way to Finger Lakes. I picked this place because of its location and good reviews online. We were able to find metered roadside parking easily. The cafe was relatively large, and on a Thursday, it was moderately busy. We had Fried Calamari for appetizer. I liked the presentation, but the serving size was small. We shared the Roast Beef Sliders. The flavor was mild. The staff was friendly, but food was only average.

We had a quick, helpful, and personable waiter for our lunch. The menu has a decent selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes, and the kitchen was flexible, able to give substitutes for a dish not marked vegan on the menu. The waiter understood the value of actually changing the contents of a dish to make it vegan or vegetarian rather than just omitting ingredients, and the kitchen accommodated. Confusing entrance/exit doors, and one of the exits up a staircase that was marked as an exit led into a room whose door out to the street was locked, so that made me feel a little stupid (not too uncommon ;-) . Didn't much like the bathroom location--in front of the kitchen and just past the bar. But these are minor points.

Grat consistent local place with new menu choices and lots of vegetarian choices. Happy hour specials on wine and apps. Try rigatoni a la vodka. It is even better with the cayenne if you like spicy! Gluten free menu items too.

The food was great, the waitress that we had was really nice, and the atmosphere is very cool. You feel like you just jumped into an Andy Warhol painting. Even the bathrooms are colorful. I highly recommend for anyone in the area and I will come back if I get the chance.

Lost Dog never fails to be a great time. The food is always fantastic. Many in my family have special dietary needs so we often choose the Lost Dog as they are extremely accommodating in this regard. Servers will go out of their way to find out the specific ingredients of a dish and the source of the ingredients. While most of the time the service is prompt. Plenty of drink options for those looking for a cocktail.
