The libraries in London have commUNITY boards to share what's going on.nIf you're wondering how you get it posted here, visit the librarian and they'll give you a form to fill out.nThank you for continuing to have this, many have removed these boards but their vital for sharing the work we're doing, bringing people together. And that's what the library does too, brings people together nAlso if you didn't bike downtown, they also have 2 hours free parking with validation at the library.nnWe decided to be safe and walk our bikes in the building with us. Good news is they have working wheelchair accessible doors for easy in and out and lots of security.
I'm really happy to say that unhoused people are just like housed people. It's all about treating everyone equally, right? By the way, I absolutely love the central library. The staff I've met there are so friendly and helpful, even the security folks! It's such a spacious and well-designed place. Oh, and definitely make sure to check out the third floor—it's a fantastic spot for studying!
Was nice for studying. Unfortunately, when clicking the button to use the ‘family’ washroom I wasn’t allowed because I was not a wheelchair user. Even if it was labeled as an accessible bathroom, accessible does not exclusively mean a wheelchair user. I talked to the security guard and a women working the front desk and both told me I could not use the family washroom. This is very unusual to me. Please fix this issue!
Incredible space with 3 floors of amazing books movies and more, I love playing chess with my girlfriend by the windows and reading in the back garden by the fountain. An essential space in London that desperately needs more funding more programs and as much resources as possible.
I booked a study room here for my class at Western university from 1pm-3pm. At 2:45, an employee barges into the room and demands I leave because the room is booked for 2:45. The maximum amount is two hours, even if you're legitimately studying/ doing school related things. I look around at other occupied study rooms and people are not doing anything of relevance in them.nThe alternative I was provided by staff? Pay for a room to study elsewhere, or study in the public areas and get accosted by the various vagrants who treat the library as a hotel.nnI will never return.
