The Best Lobster that I ever have. I enjoyed the whole lobster including the meal. Amazing test!!! Seven stars food and services. New Glasgow Lobster Supper in PEI is the best seafood restaurant at a very reasonable price with a seven course meal with the main. I visited the restaurant with my family and friends of eight people and everyone enjoyed their food. Hope we will visit again soon .
Enjoyed our family experience! You order your main dish and the rest is all you can eat. 4 course meal served by great staff! We had yummy bread with seafood chowder not too salty, buckets of fresh and clean blue mussels, garden salad then we tried the tasty lobster and scallop dishes. The desserts were not too sweet, tried blueberry pie and coconut cream pie.
Quite a long wait but well worth it once you’re inside! We had the 1 lb lobster dinner with pretty much unlimited mussels, rolls, soup, chowder and desserts! Best lemon meringue pie I’ve had since my great Aunt Hilda’s! Our server Sam was the very best!
A must do when our east for anyone who loves lobster! The staff are so friendly here - and it’s a joy to support the local economy when it’s so delicious. The multiple course meal means come very hungry! Unlimited mussels come with salads and the main course you’ve selected. Then coffee/tea and dessert. Truly a great value!
Got there at 6:30PM no res and waited around 45 minutes in total for a table for two. If you have reservations you can head in first via the same door, but you’ll see the sign closer to the door that says guests with reservations stay on the left. You pay for your meal first, they’ll give you a ticket and you’ll get a buzzer shortly. There’s a bar and a few seats for you while you wait to be buzzed, we waited about 15 mins here. Our server was super nice I forgot to get her name , she was very busy with many tables so the service can be quite slow. The price was very reasonable for all the food we got, coffee/tea/pop is included. You can also get seconds on any sides. I see a lot of reviews saying the sides are very mediocre… I agree but keep in mind, you’re here for the lobster… not for the sides Mussels were over cooked, I recommend starting with just the half bucket. Chowder was watery and bland, tomato soup was too salty. BUT the lobster was very fresh and juicy! We got the 1lb. Scallops were cooked perfectly. My fave dessert was the lemon meringue pie, highly recommend! Remember to tip before you leave! Leave cash or you can ask for the card machine at the end of your meal!
Don’t be discouraged by the line up outside. The staff is super efficient. They have the experience to make sure you are served. Mussels are steamed perfectly. No need for sauté veggies or wine. The fish chowder… add some mussels. Lobsters are amazing. My only disappointment is seeing how much uneaten lobster is left behind. But not everyone knows how to pick out ever bit of meat from them.
Get there early if you can. We arrived at 5 which seemed to be the sweet spot as it was already busy when we got there and lined up when we left. The food was incredible. Impossible to leave hungry. Prices are incredibly fair. The location and atmosphere are fantastic can't recommend enough Kid-friendliness: Looks to be great kid friendly options from normal items to half a lobster Parking: Parking is free but get there early and don't be afraid to park on the grass
Really fun place to experience a lobster dinner. Managed to get a reservation since we had 8 people. You can have as much of the appetizers and desserts as you like. Mussels were good. Lobsters are cut and cracked so that you can get to the meat easily. Some in our group had the scallops which were also very good. The whole payment process is a bit odd where you pay for your meal when entering, but drinks are billed at the end of the meal. You'll have to remember to tip at the end of the dinner. If you order drinks during the meal, you can add the tip to that bill, which makes it easier.
A no regrets, once in a lifetime experience, but the food was unfortunately mediocre at best. The concept here is interesting. Underpinned by some of the friendliest service in town, you have the opportunity to try a couple soups, few salads, homemade bread rolls, and mussels - with all of the above included when you purchase a main. I tried the lobster and scallops, which like many of the dishes I tried, was served plain without seasoning. Additionally, the scallops were overcooked and rubbery. Frankly, the delicious bread was my favourite item.
Went super early because we were warned that lines get very long and if you go late you won't get in. We also heard they are much better than the fisherman's wharf lobster dinner restaurant so we didn't go there and can't compare. We did have lobster dinner elsewhere but those don't come with repeat courses of chowder, mussels, and dessert. They are only open from 4pm to 8pm. We went at 315pm and were second in line. They only take reservations for groups of 10 or more so when 4pm came there were about 150 people in the no reservation line. There was also a bus load of senior citizens that had a large group reservation. However the restaurant is huge and everyone got in with still some tables to spare. Lesson learned was that we likely could have shown up around 430pm and still got a table with no line. When we left around 530pm there were about 15 people in line. The food is good but in my opinion not worth a long drive unless you want to eat tons of food. We did eat too much because we could but I wouldn't be in a rush to return. I'd prefer less food of higher quality. I found the 1.5lb lobster to be a great size and tasty. The chowder and mussels and fruit pie for dessert were not great or flavourful. The pie was also dry. I did try someone else's strawberry shortcake and it was much better than the pie. Beer was priced around $5.50 for a 12oz. Service was very good. Our waitress was attentive and stayed on top of everything.
