The variety and assortment of groceries is quite vast but the price point is usually $1 higher then Freshco or Walmart. Despite we go there for a better shopping experience. But today I didn't like what they did to the frozen Halal section. I don't know if it was done knowingly or unknowingly, associates have place pork meat with Halal frozen products. This is absolutely unacceptable and hurts our sentiment. I will probably refrain myself from going there from now on. I used to spend atleast $600 - $800 a month for last few years. But not anymore. Really disappointed. Didn't expect this from Loblaws.
The two star is NOT for the store. It is for President's Choice products, which now have a monopoly on nearly all products at the store. An unfair practice to remove the competition so that they can charge whatever they want.nnWhen President's Choice started I used to love it. I thought the quality was great.nnNowadays some of their products are a major disappointment, not to mention that I feel like I am being robbed.nnExample: Blue menu chicken korma and butter chicken used to come with rice all the way to the top of the tray, there were big chunks of chicken about 7 or 8 with a thicker sauce. It was around $3.50 not too long ago.nnNow there is way less rice, usually 4 tiny pieces of chicken, and lots of watery sauce.nnIn the picture, I had just warmed it up and opened. You can see the rice is no longer to the top. There are five small pieces of chicken, but two of each should count as one because they are so tiny.nnCost today was $4.99.nnThe price going up, plus reduction in meat and rice the weight is the same, mostly because of liquid - this is akin to doubly raising the price.nnI believe consumers should be protected from this sort or dirty business practice.nnLoblaws should acquire products from competitors. This helps control prices. Plus, products are chosen for their quality, not because it's the only brand available.
If my usual gluten free/organic grocery stores are closed or I am closer and being lazy I will go here for the random things they do have that best suit my dietary needs. Staying open late is great and the items are fairly priced with a decent variety.
Clean store and as you all know WAY OVERPRICED.nnmy only really annoying part hung is the patisserie section. It’s going to be a hunt to find anyone that works there, looks to see if any customers are actually waiting to buy anything. Even asking another employee results in still another long long wait. Especially if you’re going to overcharge for everything. Make the customer experience amazing at least !
A side from the high prices at this store it has been in a decline over the past few years, this location, Use to be my grocer of choice with good deals and fresh products. This place is no longer that place, I have been going here less and less today i went by to grab a couple items, homeless people drinking beer at the entrance and smoking dope, inside people stealing despite the 8 foot walls of Plex glass that has been installed and on top of this 50% off items were rotten and should be disposed of not sold. There is other places to buy you products cheaper and safer
