Where do I even begin of how horrible the school district is. I enrolled my son and L Thomas Heck and inform everybody that he had ADHD and ODD and was coming from an abusive household from another state. During the school year he was talked down to by his PE teacher and kicked out of the class and put into an intermediate band class from which he had no experience without my consent. And near the end of the year he was assaulted three times by the same student throughout the day. You would think that when does got up to the office I would be called and informed. The only phone call I got was from the school nurse saying that my son had been injured when he was assaulted by another student. I still never received a phone call from staff about this incident. And when I informed the actual school district or who is above the principal there was no follow up for me done about what would happen to that student or to make sure that my son was in a safe environment. My son wanted to go back there for the friends that he finally made and for some reason he still likes the school but what a surprise he got denied for behavior. The only behavior that needs to be made accountable for our the lack of actions and safety for my child in your school district. My son may have had some behavioral issues but they were corrected by medications when I finally was able to get him on my insurance and his behavior drastically improved. I usually say that teachers don't get paid enough but for this school district and that particular school you people dont deserve anything extra considering the risk you put my son in.
Amazing teachers! To all the parents upset about distance learning, we all work. You aren’t the only ones dealing with challenges here. You have to figure it out. It’s not the teachers or districts job to find suitable childcare for your child just because you don’t get to have free daycare anymore. The well being of the staff and teachers is more important than you being upset about having to get a babysitter or actually teach your own child. We are all sacrificing here. Figure it out
Absolute B.S. that all kids must do distance learning. My wife and I have to return to work. So if I stay home again from work I should be getting paid for helping my child learn not the teachers. Virtual teaching does not help kids in lower grades or those with learning disability. You all got your Red4Ed now do your job and teach in person.
After feeling like I was almost forced to quit from Dreaming Summit Elementary School because I did not share the same vision as the class I was in, I did leave. Insurance though them was too much as well. I thought I left on good terms. But now I can see there was too much positional power being used against me as a paraprofessional. I am now being reprimanded months later applying for a job at a different school within the district. I received a phone call that I am not eligible for rehire because of what the previous principal had written up about me and how there were "many incidents" I was unaware of until now. It's all politics and since I was never permitted to have an exit interview nothing written on paper mind you with the principal I was told as long as I gave two weeks notice I was eligible for rehire. It was a lie. Make sure you do some good research before applying at the district.
My son has been attending this school for the past two grades now. I absolutely love the teachers he has had so far Mrs. Merrbaugh and Ms Dubyak and Mrs. Hopper, the Principal, is a very nice lady as well. I am very thankful that my son has been given the opportunity to attend here!
My kid's go to Scott Libby School in the District and so far so good. Teachers are awesome they communicate very well with parent's from my experience. I worked for the District and my kid's have been going to this school for 8 at a.midde school 5 years now. You would think the Principal Mrs. Morris would at least say hello and engage with the parent's at the Runner Rally, Honors Induction Night, Book Fair visits or even on campus when I would go. Not once has she ever said hi or tried speaking to parent's from what I see. She may just talk to people she knows. She seems fake all the way around and even when she has to be the commentator for the Road Runner Ralley at the end of each month. I've never seen a principal like this wish she had better manners. What a shame to see. District Office Staff is no different they always hire friend's or people that have worked there before, so they do not give the general public a fair chance to get a job in any position. There are very few people that are real most are so fake it's hilarious to see everyday how fake they are. Registration Department can't keep their registrar position filled because the Director Kim is so rude and cruel to her staff, she has made several employees cry and actually quite their jobs. She should not be a Director I would love to see her credentials and list of all complaints against her from previous employee's and I am sure.from the public as well! I may ask because general public has this right to do so if y'all didn't know. We pay taxes to support these Schools, County and State agencies so we have rights to these files or emails. She needs to take some management training classes and maybe her department will be a more pleasant to work for and some basic classes for her employee's. The one thst work dor her are so rude to other employees, parent's, grandparents etc. They have gone through almost 30 people for the registrar position! That says a lot...oh my because of all the issues this department has and still does.
District office staff is horrible. I called to ask registration questions and the lady was so rude before she hung up she called me a blonde to another staff member that was working there. I’m sorry I don’t work in your profession as a school registrar and I have questions that should be easy for you to answer. I’m sorry you have to do your job and answer phones and actually give people information. I’m sorry I probably took you away from your social hour. I’m Hispanic and I’m a brunette not a blonde. She sounds like your typical entitled… never-mind.. Get a new job that doesn’t allow you to deal with the public. This job is not it for you.
This District office is the most bigoted individuals I have ever heard of. They are biased and judgmental. I would never recommend you put your children in this district. If i could move my kids i would in a heartbeat but unfortunately I am unable to do so for at least a year. When that year passes you best believe my kids will move districts immediately.
I've been going to the school for 5 years now, and the most of the teachers show obvious favoritism and are lazy. The punishments are unfair, as I have been punished unfairly, and I've heard that they did it because they were afraid of being sued by the offender's father, who is a lawyer, and has had multiple violations which would have had him expelled or at the least, suspended from the school, as he has attacked multiple students.
I love this school district. My 2 boys have been in the litchfield school district since before kindergarten. Oldest son had a learning disability and so each problems and they worked side by side with him in their pre school when he was 4 to prepare him for kindergarten. They continue to give him the help he needed every year after and last year he tested out of the learning disability classes. He pulled As and Bs last year too so he wants just barley passing he made honor roll. He is going into 4th grade now. I'm so happy with this district and Especially Verrado elementary in this district. Thank you.
