LDSS is operated by the Avon Maitland District School Board and currently has over 850 students in grades 9-12.
LDSS offers an inclusive learning environment and school community that encourages students to explore their options and discover new challenges through high academic expectations and co-curricular opportunities. Our goal is to engage and inspire our learners, so as to unlock their potential and their ability to be innovative, life-long learners.
As well as our Main Campus on Maitland Ave. we offer two alternative programs. Our Nexus program, located on Wallace Ave. S., offers an alternative education program to students who are over sixteen years of age who have difficulty experiencing success in a traditional classroom setting. Nexus is a continuous entry program which includes a cooperative education experience. CASE is an alternative program that is designed to serve students from families whose culture does not support attending a traditional secondary school. CASE combines academic studies and work placements.
