Liquor Depot Capilano

Stopped in on Dec 24th and the service was AMAZING for such a busy day. The store manager Gwen was incredibly helpful and suggested the perfect liquor to make my Christmas cocktail perfect.

Well I gave them 4 stars because nothing is ever perfect but at least they try very hard, you can please some of the people some of the time as they say but you can't please all of the people all of the time. My experience has always been pleasant and if there's something that isn't on the shelf the manager can usually find it and have it brought in withhin as little as 10 days depending on product and distance from source. Overall a great place to shop for your Spirit of choice. I would highly recommend this store to my friends. sincerely Clayton

Twice in the last month my spouse and I went to try some new brews at the growler bar. There was no other customers in the store. The fellow at the till called his coworker to assist us but we were told by Terence that he was ,"on his break" We were unhappy but purchased anyway and left. We returned a couple of weeks later. This time Terence was at the till...there was one other customer in the store. I asked if we could please sample some beer at the growler bar and was once again told that the coworkers were on break. So my spouse expressed his concern over the lousy customer service by now we are the only customers in the store...this time we made no purchase and will not be back. Got a better deal and much friendlier customer service nearby.

I needed to pick up a bottle of Gin and was driving by the Capilano liquor Depot today on the my way home. I have never been in there before but thought I would run in and grab it quick. I had my daughter with me who came in the store as she has done many times before in different liquor stores. I walked in with my daughter behind me, I grabbed the bottle and went to the till with my daughter in tow. The guy at the till said he needs to see ID from us and I show him mine, then he says he needs to see my daughters ID. I told him I am the one buying it and I showed you mine. He says it doesn’t matter that she is with me so he needs to see hers too. I said she doesn’t have ID she’s a minor and he said that he can’t sell anything to me then and was very rude about it. I have been in many different liquor stores and I have never had this issue. The sign on the door clearly states that you can be asked for ID if you appear to look under the age of 25 years old. I am 47 and have no problem showing my ID, which I did. The sign on the door also indicates that minors are permitted in the store when accompanied by an adult which my daughter was. My daughter did not touch or carry anything she was just beside me. But yet I was still refused sales just because she was with me. That doesn’t even make any sense considering the liquor laws in Alberta permit minors in liquor stores when accompanied by an adult. But obviously not at the Liquor Depot in Capilano. So I left and we stopped at the next liquor store I drove passed, me and my daughter walked in I grabbed a bottle of Gin like I did before and walked to the till. The cashier had no problem selling it to me and even made friendly small chat with my daughter and we were on our way. Fyi to anyone that plans on bringing their kids into the Liquor Depot in Capilano be prepared to be refused sales even though the sign on the door indicates minors are allowed. I will never go back to the Liquor Depot in Capilano Mall it’s not worth the hassle, I’ll spend my money elsewhere

Here's a classic example of a saucy Job. I did the liquor taste.since the manager thinks the labor laws don't appply.medical.marijuana is now accepted whether or not policy of this scammy employer.not only you violated.my right as a labor standards will interject with a rebuttle it's not.a.safety sensitive job..congrats lady on that one .no hard feelings when my lawyer serves u .ignorance !

If I could add negative stars I would. I had a very discouraging and disappointing experience at this Liquor Depot. I walked into the store and viewed the sale flyer that was plainly displayed on a stand up sign that was clearly advertising the sales in the store. It also had a pile of loose sale flyers underneath it. Wisers Special Blend Rye was on sale for $17.99 for a 26. I picked up two bottles and proceeded to the checkout. The clerk tried to charge me $20.99. I showed her the flyer that I picked up in the store by the sales display. She said no, it expired yesterday even though there was no expiry date marked on it. I said I would like to speak to the manager. She came out and parroted the same story about the sale being expired even though it was plainly advertised right in the store on their billboard and the flyers set out for the customers. She said it was human error that her staff didn't take the sale advertising down and I had to pay the higher $20.99 price. I advised her that was against the law as per section 54 double ticketing in the Canadian Competition Act. She said would give me the sale price one only one bottle then. I stood my ground and told her I would file an official complaint under the act. Only then she relented and gave me the legal sale price. Double ticketing Section 54 of the Competition Act prohibits double ticketing. This criminal offence happens when a consumer is charged the higher price between two or more prices clearly expressed in one of the following ways: -on a product, its wrapper or container. -on anything attached to, inserted in or accompanying the product, its wrapper or container or anything on which the product is mounted for display or sale. -on an in-store or other point-of-purchase display or advertisement. The purpose of the section 54 of the Competition Act is to prevent consumers from being deceived or confused about the price charged.

I have bought 99% of my alcohol at your store for about 8 years. Your staff working December Fourth at around 8 PM were so rude I am never coming back. I was delighted to see some rare Flemish, Trappists and St Abbey Belgian Monk Beer that I hadn't tried or seen in the store before. My 24 year old stepdaughter was with me and the staff wouldn't sell me the beer because she didn't have her I'd. So I brought her to Walmart to join her mother and went back. They still wouldn't sell me the beer I thoughtfully selected. So after I got groceries and dropped the family off at home I wen back and they still would not serve me. They told me to shop at a different store but the other stores in the area don't have the types of St Abbey, Trappist, Monk and Flemish wheat beers that I want. The staff was rude and said I could not buy anything until the next day. They were taking enjoyment denying me service, extremely rude. I think the staff were racist and that played a part in why they wouldn't serve me. A sober mid forties man with I.D and money hours after I dropped my 24 year old step daughter off at home

My husband buying an alcohol I'm just looking around and we're 40 years old. We're wearing a ukrainian hat and give us a bad look and never let us to buy the wine he showed his ID and they told us we can't sell the wine to us because I don't have my ID so we respect them and we decided to leave as its their policy. My husband came back and still not selling us the wine. Too much discrimination. Looking for the manager and old lady says I'm the manager. Very rude People.

The absolute best selection, without that really cold section for your drinks.

Amazing service, was helped by amazing and generous employees, and I found exactly what I was kind of looking for to taste these holidays. Next time im in Edmonton again for a few days visiting my family, I would again, myself, go here exactly to this very one store I bought from, to buy something for my cravings of wanting to not deal with "others" drama.
