It’s out first time at Linda’s Beans and everything was delicious. We decided to go with the lobster dinner since we came to visit Maine. It came with a whole lobster, fried steamers, clam chowder, and a side of corn bread and cole slaw, and dessert. The order was so big, it can feed two people. The rest of us ordered fish tacos and lobster pasta. Everything was really good. Service was also good, even though there was only one server available on a Monday night.
My friends and I went to Linda Bean’s Tavern to order lunch. The service was quick and excellent! Our hostess was very precise and very attentive to our needs, bringing new drinks without even being asked. The food was great as well, large portion sizes for reasonable costs. The Fried Clams were by far our favorite, and the Iced Tea was also really great. I’d very much recommend this restaurant to anyone looking forward to good, affordable food after a day trip of Freeport shopping!
I was not overly impressed with the food here. First off when I order a haddock meal I expect to get a good size piece of fish, not skinny, overcooked little nuggets. I wish I had sent it back but it was late & my family would’ve been waiting on me. The fries were awful, flavorless, stale, not crisp & no salt. Probably the worst fries I’ve ever had. For $22 this was a very subpar meal! My husband said his lobster ravioli was good. My son had chicken tenders & those were good, but he said the fries were awful, which I agreed. I wish we’d gone for pizza rather than spend almost 100 on a meal here that we were not at all satisfied with. In the future whenever I order fish I’m going to always ask if it’s a piece of fish or small nuggets! I’ve had this at other places & it angers me to pay that much & get skinny little overcooked fish nuggets. I wanted a nice big piece of haddock. Rip off. Our server did not ever ask us how our food was so I didn’t really have the opportunity to say I didn’t like it. I would’ve had to flag her down & ask to send it back. I am very uncomfortable doing that so I just ate the fish. A lot to pay for just a few fish nuggets. I stopped eating the fries cuz yuck! You’ll see in the pics how skinny the fish nuggets were. I’d advise against the fish & fries! I left here still hungry, which NEVER happens when we go out normally.
Had a great experience. My husband ordered a burger well done and it was cooked perfectly. Most places don't cook them correctly. I ordered the pasta plate which was also very good. Freah pasta with parmesan sauce and I added lobster which was plentiful. Wait staff was attentive and quick.
Loved the brie, apple, and cranberry grilled cheese with house made chips. The contrast between the sweet apple & cheese was delicious and the bread was well toasted. The chips were crispy with just the right amount of salt. My friend had the lobster chhese & macaroni. There was no shortage of lobster! Server was friendly & location is convenient to Freeport Village shopping
Had some bloody Mary’s and lunch. The bloody Mary’s were ok they use a bottle mix and its a high tomato taste. The lobster club was amazing. So much lobster and worth every penny. Had the avocado salmon toast fresh heavy on the capers worth getting again. Simmonsville burger meat was good. Was a little more bun then meat ratio. And if you get the double it means two separate burgers not two patties on one bun. Overall very good food
Great service Carol, good food. We had the crispy chicken strips with blueberry BBQ sauce which was excellent. We also ordered the bacon & parmesan scallops, not much bacon present but a lot of flavor and they were okay.
I started out with the seafood stew very good. Had the bacon scallops and lobster pockets. Tasted amazing. My boyfriend got the mixed seafood plate very generous portions and the waitstaff was very pleasant.
Carol is amazing! She's such a wonderful server. Party of 3, we ordered lobster rolls. We expected them to be hot, but the lobster rolls were chilled. They were still amazing and would be great on a hot summer day! We also switched out chips for fries on 2 of our meals both the chips and fries were great Vegetarian options: Pasta, appetizers ect.
Their lobster bisque is exquisite. It’s a must have from their menu. I also tried the Lobster ravioli and my husband had the wings and oysters. Their atmosphere is nice and the hostess and our waitress were attentive. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to be back again soon.
