Legal Aid Alberta

This review is about Legal Aid Alberta. God help you if you need their help. Either this organization is overwhelmed with excess demands for its services, or it is run by a group of inept, lazy, uncaring and unmotivated individuals. Their business name is "Legal Aid". Expect to wait on their phone line for 2 hours to get response, if at all. They need to look in to their business model and seriously overhaul their operation to improve efficiency and the effective delivery of their badly needed services. About their phone answering service: one way to efficiently answer phone calls is to provide a callback service, instead of compelling people under stress to wait on the phone for 2 hours before providing customer service. Many businesses offer a call back service based on first call first serve. What is so difficult about doing that? Honestly? Do you have to be a genius to figure out that a caller would be most appreciative and relaxed when knowing when he/she will get a call back from Legal Aid? instead of waiting for 2 hours and listening to annoying recurring recorded messages reminding him/her of "Long wait time", or "check spam folder", etc.

Beware Imagine: if in medicine or education you never advanced beyond the waiting room or grade 1 because you lacked funds, poor...that's what this place facilitates for lawyers. They do nothing, until you lost everything, and it's too late. Then you still owe them. If you are poor you will be treated lower than any animal under Canadian law. Legal aid is where terrible lawyers go to hide, and to steal from weak victims. They are not there to help normal people they are there to help most evil lawyers find most broken victims. Its another organization of privileged folks pretending to do volunteer work. It looks good on each other's resumes. Beware. .Beware. Shame on you.

Legal aid has done lots of good services for me over the years so I hope this time is the same and they can get me off on the charges because I'm an innocent bystanders of the whole situation and don't deserve to get into trouble for this supposed crime. Thanks legal aid.

Very difficult to get a hold of and seem to care very little about clear communication or helping your situation. After spending hours on hold they are quick to dismiss you and your issues and are too impatient to allow you to finish sentences. I just waited for hours for the 3rd time and I was cut off mid sentence, with no return call or email, and they will just make me wait for hours on hold again. They dont care whatsoever and are doing a terrible job of ruining a service that many people depend on. These people should be ashamed of their performance and should be fired so that people that understand the importance of their role can fill those jobs.

I went here last week some guy stopped me from going upstairs apparently you need an appointment I just had a few general questions to ask wasn't even allowed to do that

Seems to be a long wait to get approved must be busy I guess never seen any thing like it

Its October 6th at 830am. Iv been calling since 815am No ring tone nothing. It just disconnects. Fix your phone's Or fire who's ever dealing with calls in the mornings

Terrible services from most of those who take client certificates I learned more about YouTube than that sever from lazy lawyers.

legal Aid is ridiculous, how are we all put on hold for hours with no help, if the office closes at 4:15 and we're kept on all hold till then whats the point? we will get cut off and no help will be given whatsoever. the amount of bad reviews on here is a testimony on how bad and unhelpful they are. Some of us do not have a thousands of dollars to spend on expensive lawyers when we need immediate help. Ridiculous is an understatement.

Your phone lines are horrendous between dropped calls and having to scream into the phone in order to be heard. This is very frustrating and unprofessional, especially when dealing with legal matters.
