About

Education should prepare children for life - intellectually, emotionally and physically

Story

Le Soleil Montessori School and Le Soleil Montessori Children's House are non-denominational, independent, private schools. They have a non-discriminatory policy relative to race, religion and origin with respect to the admission of the students and employment of staff.

Classes are organized to encompass a three year age span (2½-3 to 5½-6 years old) which allows younger students to experience the daily stimulation of older role models who in turn blossom in the responsibilities of leadership. Children learn at different rates and the rate of their learning is not even and predictable. It can proceed in periods of rapid growth mixed with periods of little or no measurable growth. The traditional system (same age grouping) assumes that children learn at predictable rates with all of them arriving at the same point at the same time. We know that children have uneven development patterns and differing levels of progress. In our multi-age classrooms, students are given the opportunity to learn at their own pace without fear of failure and older students are expected to be role models and leaders for the younger and new students to the classroom. Students not only learn with each other but from each other. The classroom operates on the principles of freedom within limits: the children are free to work at their own pace with the materials (previously presented) they choose.

What you see in our classrooms is freedom - the children's true nature: showing self-discipline, inner guidance and a love of order. You can see students who are driven by their own innate desire to learn, acquire knowledge, utilize and perfects skills. They are in complete harmony with others and their surroundings.

Le Soleil Montessori School and Le Soleil Montessori Children's House have purpose built, safe, beautiful and fully equipped classrooms that have been specifically designed for young children. The low shelves showcase a wealth of learning materials allowing children to develop their full potential.

Mission

We feel strongly that the most important qualities we can help the children acquire are a sense of self-confidence and a love of learning.

We provide a positive, supportive and nurturing atmosphere in a carefully prepared, inspiring and aesthetically pleasing environment outfitted with educational materials designed for young children.

Translated by Google My children have been in this school since kindergarten. And what a pleasure to see them, each one, evolve and flourish over the years! The instruction is done according to the Montessori pedagogy, with 2 educators per class one French-speaking and one English-speaking who guide the children in their learning. The children therefore benefit from the benevolent environment and the motivation instilled by the teachers while developing their autonomy and self-confidence. The director and the assistant director are very involved. They welcome children and families every day with a smile. My children are happy to go to school and retain the curiosity and desire to learn inherent in children. This is what I expect from the school. Thanks to the whole team !
Translated by Google Excellent Montessori school! Very well trained Montessori mistresses, an available and benevolent team. The school program is very well followed. The children evolve in a real framework. We are very happy with the school and have total confidence in our 2 daughters who go to school there. A very good school to recommend! Translated by Google 1. The hypocrisy of the employees of this school. They are not direct with the parents with looks between them that say a lot about how to treat children. 2. The Montessori pedagogy is not applied or even non-existent except for the layout of the classes and the various work tools. 3. The important thing for the school is the money and not the development of the children. Our child's behavior has changed so much that we wonder if there is abuse excessive punishment, isolation of children, etc. 4. No questioning of educators. 5. No supervision or little follow-up by various state agencies. The school does what it wants. The school cannot be rated because it does not deserve to exist. 6. Child care after school is delegated to a company. The employees of this company make no effort with the little ones. The children stand in a large field full of mud Original 1.
Translated by Google My son started PS in public school then joined the Montessori school "Les Rays de Soleil" in PS class. He did his kindergarten there and is now in CP. I particularly like: - open and constructive dialogue with the teaching team and with the Direction in mode if necessary: "search for a solution" together - caring for children - the seriousness of the learning - outings in the forest - the acquisition of adjoining land to allow children to have a larger playground and develop projects there... But that's just my vision as an adult and a mom. I think the most important thing is my son's vision and feelings. And every day, for 4 years, he is delighted to get up in the morning to go to school, they have passed on to him the desire to learn and he discovers all the subjects with great pleasure.
