If you are looking for an epic culinary experience - please do yourself the favour of visiting Le Flamant. The team is passionate about taking you on an adventure and every dish surprises you with how creative and delicious every bite is. Thank goodness it comes yummy corn bread that allowed us to sop up every drop of sauce. These folks mean business with their tasting menu and will not disappoint. As a side note. We are also from out of province and Tasting menus world wide have always been per person with a minimum of 2 people. The the quality, quantity and experience the price is a steal! At any other restaurant it would be $250 per person!
I came here from out of province with my spouse. We were immediately interested in the 8 course tasting menu and both ordered it. I was shocked when I was told that we would BOTH be charged 85 dollars but the 8 courses would be shared. So if I came alone I'd pay less and receive more food? After reassurance that we would not be disappointed... We were extremely disappointed. The food was not great, a majority of the courses tasted really similar and there was very little protein and practically no meat. For a grand total of 200 dollars and only receiving 8 courses with no real substantial proteins.... I feel extremely cheated for my money. At this time I do not recommend eating here.
Food was very good and cocktails too. The servers and decor were nice as well. Area isn't great but I would definitely come back when there's less construction.
Amazing experience! The servers were incredibly knowledgeable and kind. The chefs and servers worked cohesively and it was widely evident that they love what they do. The food! Each bite was many textures and flavors, it is so hard to describe other than a must try experience. Order the tasting menu, you won’t regret it!
Honestly, I have been waiting for a while to try this restaurant. However, I feel disappointed. We took the 8 course tasting menu, and the food was very variable. Some dishes were truly great, while others really tasted bad. The sommelier recommended a wine bottle that wasn't good, and the seating on the bench was very uncomfortable. I won't go there again.
Wonderful dining experience. We sat at the bar right by the kitchen. Love watching the magic of food prep and the staff were so open to answering all our questions around what they were making. We had the menu degustation with the wine pairing. Couldn’t have been more perfect. The food was homey and interesting at the same time. The drinks were perfectly paired. Everyone was so, so lovely. If I could add another star, I would!
Unique and amazing high end dishes in a casual atmosphere. Friendly, fun, and helpful staff and good drink choices too! Definitely go again
Visited on a Sunday so the place was not crowded. Food and service was great. We had the 11 course for 2 to share option #3. Parking can be a challenge depending on the day/time.
The food is AMAZING. Exploratory, tasty and served with kindness and personal space respect. The place is modern and charming. We were beyond satisfied.
Pros: -Great food -Great presentation -Simple but well executed cocktails -Friendly staff that knows rheir menh -Cannot get more of an open kitchen concept than this. They make you wait for your table in the kitchen itself. Even when heading to the restroom, you have to go through it. -Location easily accessible -The drawer concept at each table adds a nice touch of originality. -The food menu changes every week Cons: -Not so much of an issue when you expect it but if you are a good 'eater' in terms of proportions, it is good to know that the size of the plates are between tapas and main meals. I already had dinner prior to my visit but I still wanted more when I came out.
