We've lived in Bridgeland for 3 years and we walked by it quite a bit and thought, it was time to give this restaurant a try. From the outside, there is the Italian charm but upon walking in, there a dusty defunct bar that acted like a storage room, not the best impression. We were prompted seated but it seemed they were very short staffed, we would not see our server for like 10-15 mins at a time. Fries were okay, not salted enough, no shakers on the tables either. Pizzas took forever to arrive. When they did: the vegetarian toppings were so coursely cut on the thinnest crust, it was impossible to eat without all the toppings falling all over the place. Ingredients didn't seem special Unico black olives or thoughtfully prepared very charred eggplant. My partner got mushroom and ham pizza, he noted that the crust was so thin that the sauce made the dough gummy, like it wasn't cooked right. Ambience was nil: no music but they had the sports on. Servers didn't do a service check. I'm going to una next time craving dine in pizza.
Old school atmosphere with friendly prompt service and excellent food. Combine that with the upbeat vibe of brigeland, and you have a winner. People were there with family and friends and looked like a decent date night spot. I will be back.Food: 5/5
I noticed right away owner has been changed. I can say the pizza Margarita is tasty, the other food is good, and the portion is good. One disappointment was, they have a TV on the wall, sports channel which is not much for an Italian restaurant.Recommended dishesTiramisu, Margherita Pizza
Wonderful experience and incredible food. We hosted a huge party for my daughters baptism, there were 70 of us. we had an entire private area. Everything was fantastic , the owners and their staff went above and beyond. The food was so tasty, and so so fresh ,!Everyone left there commenting on the food and commenting on the hospitality of the staff! So glad we picked LDV for our event, and I know that we,,: and our guests will return! Thanks again
We had a staff Christmas party here in their private room. We ate a set menu, family-style. All the food was amazing - the calamari was so tender and the ravioli was fresh and flavourful. We had another pasta dish, two kinds of pizza and several appetizers. The foods were well-balanced and perfectly made. I highly recommend this restaurant!
We were professionally greeted in the foyer by May, a co-owner of LDV restaurant. She and her husband, Claudio, recently took over the restaurant. They have an extensive food and beverage background. Added to the kitchen is a trained chef of Roman heritage. We were seated immediately and offered flat or carbonated water. We ordered pizza which arrived within 10 minutes, freshly made. The Margherita and Vegetarian were tasty with a light crust amply-loaded. May also delighted us with samples of her private-label hot peppers. We enjoyed 1 glass of wine and 2 beer. Total bill was ~ $65 + tip. For an easy night out with excellent food and service and, I would highly recommend LDV. If you are a sports fan, TVs are often broadcasting popular sports sans volume. Street parking along 1 Ave is free after 6 pm. Vegetarian options: Veggie pizza is on the menu. Parking: Street
Four of us had a fabulous dinner at this neighbourhood gem last night. Service was excellent....and the food was even better. Delicious pizzas, calamari and salads. Atmosphere is very conducive to conversation and the restaurant is very comfortable. Yum.
The venue itself is wonderful. They were very accommodating for a private event. Having heard good things about the food, I was quite disappointed. The pasta sauces were bland and very generic. The bread served with the bruschetta was delicious, the bruschetta itself less than stellar. The calamari was just bland. The pizza had potential, but may have been rushed due to the volume for the event; the crust was very under done. The tiramisu was MAGNIFICENT! So light and delicious and the serving was very generous.
Went here for the first time because the first place that wanted to go to had an extremely long wait time and was quite hungry so didn’t want to wait there and decided to come here since had such a high rating and some really great review. Boy was I wrong! We arrived and no one greeted us at first and then once we told the hostess that we didn’t have a reservation they put us in a table that was in a corner of the restaurant that was barely big enough for the food we order, the hostess said that if a table came available she would move us, we saw quite a few open up but never once did she come back and deliver on her promise. Once the waiter came to get out order he seem like he was in a rush and when asked to see if they had anything non-alcoholic he provide me with a beer that tasted like beer but no alcohol which was fine but tasted disgusting, the waiter should’ve provided me with the other options before I had to ask half way through my meal. Also the waiter never provided a second menu and felt like was rushing us to make a decision on the food and also when getting the bill he was giving the feeling like he deserved a tip but honestly if the machine could’ve allowed me to skip it I would’ve unfortunately I could only give the lowest which was 18% which I think is not right and should give the option of either a custom tip or no tip at all. Won’t be back, don’t recommend and will be definitely doing the wait for the other place when I am craving wood oven pizza
I celebrated my birthday here with a large group. I had ordered a Shirley Temple virgin and a non-alcoholic Peroni. I emphasized to the server that I cannot have alcohol but wanted something to cheers my friends with. The non-alcoholic Peroni was delicious! Tasted just like a regular beer. I ordered a second. Upon its arrival I took it to each table to cheers my friends but it wasn’t until my gf noticed at the last table that it wasn’t non-alcoholic and I immediately felt the buzz. I’m 5 months pregnant and this was not okay. I understand mistakes happen but nothing was done by the server or management to rectify this situation. Now that’s not the sole reason for my 1 star review. We used to come here pre-COVID many times as they always accommodated our large parties and had great food and service. Regarding the food, I have to completely agree with the previous reviewer but seeing how management responded I’m not going to bother going into detail. When it came to bill time, we all got separate cheques for our drinks only. We politely asked our server why the food wasn’t added on to each bill and she said she’d bring out the manager to answer our question. Rather than thanking us for our patronage or asking how our experience was, the female manager was very rude and made me feel bad that we didn’t request for separate cheques ahead of time. I’ve been in the service industry for many years and was shocked that a manager could talk to a customer like that. This will be our last visit sadly.
