Excellent brunch -- Delicious!! We will certainly visit again. We were in a big hurry when we visited over the Christmas holidays so we could only order their grab and go items. I promised the kids then that we would return for brunch. Given the five-star reviews for their French toast, we'll be back again soon to sample that too!
I was in town performing at the playhouse and so excited to try this spot! They have the best coffee in town and a fun/trendy menu. Sadly, the staff isn’t very friendly and I felt like I was bothering them every time I went in. I understand it’s a hard time for everyone/restaurants but it’s not that hard to be friendly when your business counts on it! I’ve worked in restaurants all my life. The avocado toast and iced coffees were delicious! The patio is super cute and there is ample seating inside.
Open on Mondays yay! My oat milk latte is amazing taste, I love it. They made our trip morning !!! I’m very lucky, thank you :
Laverne’s is some of the best breakfast food in this country. They have an excellent indoor dining space and the most beautiful outdoor seating area. They make their own tea blends that you can purchase by the gram. We got the Huevos Rancheros and the French Toast. Both excellent. Bonus points for the French Toast that I will actually drive all the way from Toronto again to have. I’ve been told in strawberry season they make strawberry stuffed French toast! 10/10 highly recommend eating here. Ray is awesome. We’ll be back very soon!
Great food and delicious coffee, if a little more expensive than I’d expected. The patio was adorable, except for the wasps. Staff weren’t the friendliest, but they were really busy so that’s understandable. Would grab a coffee there anytime!
Fiesta Fridays are fun! Great brunch. The must-try food item IMO is the breakfast burrito! I like the veggie option, that tomato chutney… A gem of Gananoque! Pictured is a French Toast special and The Brisket Hash added side of tomato chutney, of course

Stopped here for lunch on a Monday while passing through Gananoque. The Spoon had perfectly cooked bacon and we liked the toast and marmalade. The hash browns with jalepeno were not what we expected not sure there even was jalepeno and it was more like roasted baby potatoes but they were still delicious. We also thoroughly enjoyed the juicy short rib in the Breakfast Burrito. It was a cozy and welcome stop on our drive, and it was nice that it was baby friendly too. We’ll be sure to stop in again in the future.
Laverne’s is one of our favourite brunch spots! The food is always hot & delicious, they have an extensive list of drinks and specialty coffees to accompany your meal and the customer service is wonderful to top it all off. If you’re looking to just grab something to go they also have an assortment of tasty treats to take with you for a quick bite. We also thoroughly enjoy their Fiesta Friday’s - the street corn is to die for!!
It is a great old building with a nice atmosphere. The team was shortstaffed but worked hard to keep things running smoothly. The food was excellent, and you got good value for your money.Food: 5/5
