We’ve come here a few times and it’s a great little place, I like the vibes and authentic Mexican feel. This time we had a beef burrito, shrimp quesadilla, tacos carnitas, shrimp, guacamole and deep fried ice cream. The burrito wasn’t the best. The shrimp quesadilla was quite good but could use a bit more flavour. The tacos carnitas: we were expecting more of a shredded pork but it was thick cut pieces but it did have good flavour. The guacamole was very delicious, definitely my favourite part of the meal. The deep fried ice cream wasn’t very good, the outside tasted stale. Overall a decent Mexican food experience.
Meat and margaritas was very delicious.... Background music feels very Mexican....I felt like in The sides beans, rice and guacamole are okay Chiquita salsa was very good...
The restaurant was quite busy,but we were seated right away .Our waitress was very prompt and friendly we ordered our meals , my husband had tequila salmon and I had the beef enchiladas. Our food arrived in a timely manner the portions were plentiful and everything was tasty and the right temperature. We will be definitely dining there again.
I really enjoyed the food. The salsa was so delicious. The one issue is that they were extremely busy and under staffed. It took our server so longer to take our order that we were just about to leave. As i said the food was very tasty and definitely willing to go back.. I would actually give a rating of 4.5 if possible
I've been coming here for years! I meet up with friends in Red Deer because it is 1/2 way between 2 major centres in Alberta. And the first evening it's a tradition to enjoy a meal at Las Palmeras! Very generous portions of fresh and authentic Mexican cuisine. Always friendly and efficient service. Lots of room for large groups, but also great for 2. My daughter loved the food at her first visit. Generous servings, and also generous garnishes such as guacamole, sour cream etc-- not every restaurant can claim that!
I haven't had food this delicious in forever! I'm so happy we decided to stop in and have our dinner here!
Food and Drinks were perfect!! Service a little slow, but very nice young lady serving. Of course a huge table left and each one paid their own bill, which is time consuming and murphy's law, two other tables left at same time. So of course that contributed to the slow service. Beyond no ones control. I would highly recommend this place to go and enjoy amazing food and not be in a hurry. I will definetly go back! Thanks
Happy we found this little gem! Doesn't look much from the outside, and really not much once you get in either but the friendly staff and the very, very nice food makes all the difference! Huge menu so even if you return every week, you will have plenty to choose from. If we ever return to Red Deer, we will return here as well!
The food never fails to impress at this place. Haven't been here for a long time and it's still as delicious as ever. Prices are also very reasonable for what you get. Next time I'm saving room for the Fried ice cream
This is one of my all-time favourite restaurants in both Red Deer and Calgary. The ambience is warm and relaxing and I love the complimentary fresh chips and authentic pico de gallo that come while you’re waiting for your food to arrive. I have tried many items on the menu over the years and have always loved everything, but my absolute favourite dessert is their deep fried ice cream. I would highly recommend checking out Los Palmeras anytime you happen to be in Red Deer.
