Great place overall. I visited yesterday evening and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was lively and well organized, with a wide variety of small outdoor food and retail shops that really added to the charm of the place. There were stalls offering different kinds of food and treats, including chocolates, chips, tea, sandwiches, hot chocolate, and even T-shirts and other small items. It felt like a mini festival with something for everyone.nnThe highlight for us was enjoying the chilly weather while sipping their famous and absolutely delicious hot chocolate. It was the perfect drink for the evening and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. There was also a live show happening, which added great energy to the surroundings and kept the crowd engaged.nnThe outdoor lighting was beautifully done and created a warm, welcoming vibe. The space is very well suited for public gatherings, families, and friends. There are multiple spots designed perfectly for selfies and group pictures, which made it even more fun to capture memories. Everywhere you look, there’s something visually appealing.nnWe ended up spending almost three hours there without even realizing how time passed. Everything felt relaxed, enjoyable, and well managed. Another big plus is the huge underground parking, which made parking completely hassle-free.nnOverall, it’s a great place to hang out, especially in the evening. Perfect for food lovers, social gatherings, photography, and just enjoying good vibes in pleasant weather. Definitely worth visiting again.
I visited Lansdowne Park for the Ottawa Christmas Market, and it honestly felt like stepping into a little holiday village. As soon as I walked into Aberdeen Square, the twinkling lights and the big Christmas tree made the whole place feel magical. I wandered around the wooden cabins, stopping to look at handmade gifts and warm up with a seasonal drink. It was busy, but in a cozy, festive way.nnAt one point, I followed the sound of music and found a small crowd gathered around some live entertainment. It added such a cheerful energy to the night. I even walked through the Aberdeen Pavilion afterward and enjoyed seeing the farmers’ market set up with local treats and baked goods. It all blended together into a really nice holiday outing.nnThe only stressful part was parking — it took longer than expected, and a few of the indicator lights in the underground lot were confusing. But once I finally made it into the market area, the whole experience made up for it. I’d definitely go again for the festive atmosphere.
Ottawa Christmas Market in December at Lansdowne Park! Mostly food and alcohol booths outside, outdoor skating rink, Santa's village, entertainment, dog friendly. Great restaurants around but we were shoulder to shoulder on Saturday late afternoon around the market and the wait for a restaurant was 2.5 to 3 hours so we left. Lucked out with underground parking but the cost $20 for just over an hour.
The stands had very pretty things to buy for Christmas, lots of food, beer, hot cider, beaver tails, etc. there is a little train that children can ride $7 per child. However, there is a farmers market on one side that I think was far more interesting and I’m glad we got to visit it.
Lansdowne Park is honestly one of the best spots in the city. It’s a great place to walk around, relax, and spend time whether you’re going solo, with friends, or with family. There’s always something happening, from events and games to restaurants, cafés, and open outdoor spaces. The area is clean, well maintained, and has a really nice vibe, especially during nice weather. It’s perfect for grabbing food, enjoying the scenery, or just hanging out for a few hours. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in Ottawa.
