I live in the US and we don’t have any Sri Lankan restaurants in my state, so since I was coming to Toronto, l called a few hours in advance and placed an order. I really wanted a mutton curry and eggplant mojo, but neither was available so I ordered a Lankan chicken curry, a pepper beef curry, a beef roll, Seeni sambol bun and some fish Patties. I was not a fan of the beef roll or fish Pattie’s but everything else was delicious. The lady working that evening was also very nice. The next time I’m in town, I’ll place an order for mutton curry well in advance and try that, I’m sure it will be good. You cannot eat at this place, it’s carry out only.
If you have the money go to another south Asian restaurant, this place sucks. The shot eats are absolutely disgusting and guaranteed will be in the toilet with diarrhea or vomiting. It's not only tasteless but the food is flavourless. I went there today and got a small saucer of snacks and paid $19. I could have thrown the money in the Ontario Lake wouldn't have mattered. Now I will be spending more time in the toilet, I'm lucky to be fooled. Indians are running the show in the kitchen and don't know what Jaffna, Srilankan food is all about, so my advice is kindly STOP going there. SAVE your MONEY and be HEALTHY.
The best Srilankan / Tamilians best food Awsome String hoppers, Biriyani, Goat curry, Fish curry, Chicken curry & Tandori buns etc.. . October 24, 2023: visited this place 20th time. Bought Srilankan style mutton / goat meat rolls/pastry, love cake & bread; awesome & very tasty. LANKAN DELIGHT & HAKKA CHOW same location but different countries food at one location. VG TASTY FOOD: bought PEPPER BEEF hakka style and so good.
Got the chicken curry for dinner, ended up on the toilet every hr from midnight till the morning, had the runs on the toilet for a few days straight afterwardsFood: 1/5
Ordered mutton combo, received barely any mutton and two bowls of rice.. Didn't get any papadam when she packaged everything up, and when asked she pretended she forgot. Service isn't good, food was okay.Food: 2/5
Mutton Rolls just fresh, tasty and medium spicy. Even I tried PieChucker Mango -Peach flavour sparkling water simply refreshing.
Have tried Lamprais all over town, right from Scarborough to Mississauga - these guys are the best by a mile! Having travelled to Srilanka often, this is as authentic. And their price is 60% of what others charge! Also they used to have the best cassava chips in the whole continent no kidding but they've stopped sad.......the staff is very friendly - both the Tamil speaking and the Hindi speaking.....kudos! Parking: free ample parking
Got the fish lamprai. Very small portion of rice with a bite size morsel of fish. Achar is straight from a grocery store jar. Dried fish was good. A fish cutlet was included and tasted very old. Overall poor value and would not recommend
Orders: mutton meal, pappad,sambar I made an Ubereats order. Quite happy with the portion and price. The food smelled amazing, the mutton portion was sufficient and instead of big chunks of meat they were chopped in small pieces that was perfect for each bite. The sides were drumstick curry, dhal, rasam, gulab jamun, and green vege which were equally delicious. The order came with free pappad and additional regular white rice. Sambar was in a good portion and tasted food.
I had Lamprais after a long time and found it authentic and delicious. Even the patties were amazing. I would really recommend this restaurant if you are looking to have Lankan food in Mississauaga.
