Family camped here for 5 days and it was fantastic! Spots right on the beach are alright, but didn't have a ton of shade. We will probably take spots 69, 70, 71 next time cause they are huge and lots of trees. Lake is huge and fun to kayak on. Bathrooms are very clean and showers were easy to use.
Great view, good for boating, fishing and spending holiday. Has restroom, bbq spots, parking, basketball hoop, volleyball court etc
We were recommended Lake Thompson by the staff at the Laura Ingalls homestead when their RV sites were full. Great spot. Lots of beach facing campsites, grass, playground, fishing, volleyball. Electric hook ups and pump out station. Would come back!
This was a great campground. It's well shaded and taken care of nicely. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and the showers nice and hot once you can figure out how to control the temperature. We had a family reunion that made use of the lodge and large open space. The only downside was that the mosquitoes were absolutely terrible, which there isn't a lot anyone can do about since it's been raining so much. We would definitely come here again.
Gorgeous lake and park! Would be great for sailing and kayaking. Probably not the best for big boats, as the water is fairly shallow.

I was there on a Wed-Thursday time frame. Very clean, nice spacing to the sites. Shower house, very nice. Fire rings all cleaned out. Very well kept park!! I hear, during the main camping season...it is next to impossible to get a site. So plan early!! Beautiful lake, sadly it was way to windy for biking or kayaking/fishing. Big Beautiful was being bucked around pretty good by the 30+ mph winds.
We had a great week here. Only a couple suggestions...the campground host didn't really know anything about the campground or the walking trails. Not helpful at all and the office was closed every time we went to check. Also, the grass was excessively long and weedy and the trees need trimmed of all the dead very badly. Just basic upkeep things.
North shore was a great campground and cabin
Nice campground but trees could be trimmed better around camp pads. Comfort stations were clean and in good shape. Fish cleaning station is a good feature.
