We stayed here recently in our travel trailer and the service was awesome! The blonde woman who checked us in my apologies, I don't think I ever got her name was beyond accommodating and helpful to both our parties. The rates are reasonable for partial hook-up travel trailer spots. On a lake, and less than 40 minutes from home? Double bonus! I am 90 percent sure we will be re-visiting this nice little campground on an upcoming weekend. The only reason this is not a "5 star" review is because I think the place could really use some updates - picnic tables were in super sad shape, as was their dock/deck near the lake. But, oh well.
The spaces are very close together. Somehow we didn't have sewer hook ups ?? And a friend drove in out to visit and was charged to stay for a couple hours?? No meals no activity just visiting our RV and talking? Hmmm However the people in the office were very nice, as were the people on the grounds.
Hello everyone. Welcome to The Lake Sawyer RV Park. This place is a hidden jem. This is a great place to stay at, and the lake is within walking distance. The Rv park is quiet and clean kept. I'm definitely coming back for a future visit. Thank you for reading my review. Please follow me and check out the places I visit.
Staff nice but, cabin i stayed in tv worked maybe half the time, window in the living room cracked and broken, living room lights flicker non stop, ceiling fan light broken, and my favorite the shower still has somebodys long hair still stuck all over the shower wall.Rooms: 1/5
We use to come here as a big family. It was 1972 or 73 . Had so much fun. Then in 1978 my parents bought a cabin on the Lake . I then had Children of my own and had so much fun fishing year round and swimming in July and August. It was so beautiful. Sorry to hear that it needs some repairs at the Camp ground. Will remember it with Beautiful memories.
They require you to cancel 7 days prior to your trip. If you do not, they take your money and offer no refund. Not even hotels do this. I had a situation where my daughter wasn't going to go to her softball tournament which was the reason I was staying at the campground. The team had to back out 3 days prior. I only made the reservation 4 days ago, tried to cancel, was informed they wouldn't give me my $ back. Basically, since I made the reservation 4 days prior to the trip, with their horrible policy, I couldn't EVER cancel and get my $ back. Customer service doesn't matter to these people. It's all about taking your $. I would recommend finding another place to camp. This was in Late September so not even peak season.
My husband and I stayed here because it was close to a wedding we were attending. The grounds were well maintained, especially down by the lake, where we enjoyed the lovely view. As mentioned in other reviews, the sites are very close together, more so than in any other place we've stayed. However, there was a common fire pit nearby where folks gathered together to visit. We did experience an issue when we went to hook up to the sewer. When we opened the ground drain, there was a bit of seepage coming up and over it. We were still able to quickly get our hose secured, but yuck! Bottom line: This is a good place to stay if you are attending a nearby event or visiting the area, but not if you want a "resort" experience.
My dad recently moved in to live here full time in his trailer. The place is nice. There is a bathroom with 2 clean showers and laundry facilities on site. The lake is beautiful and the water is sooo warm! The people who run the place seem nice and so far, it's been a good experience. The playground could definitely use some updating but it also has a basketball court and our kids love to go there to see Papa.
Cool, place but some of the sites back up to the main road in. A few full timers but overall a nice place.Rooms: 5/5
We have been coming to this park since 94 and it was beautiful. The lake is great but the park has very few full hook ups and the spots that do mostly for live ins. The spots are narrow and tree stumps coming out of the ground to trip on. We checked in on Sunday and Donna was super nice but the manager is anything but nice. She is very rude and the lady that cleans the bathrooms is a nasty lady. After all of these years of being a member we will not be camping here again . That is very sad because we have had a lot of good memories at this park. All the buildings are locked up and absolutely no activities. Don't know what we are actually paying for.
