Lahuna poke

About

Perfecting Poke since 2008. Lahuna Poke is a build your own poke bowl concept developed in Toronto with Hawaiian and California influences

Story

Lahuna Poke may have first opened at summer markets in 2016, but its roots date back a decade. The founders of Lahuna Poke have been working in the restaurant industry for a combined 35+ years, but for a decade have had an obsession with Poke. Having read about the classic Hawaiian dish ten years ago and craving what was described, the founders began experimenting with their own recipes. At the time, a simple google search of 'Poke recipe' returned just one result, it was underwhelming and the sauce overpowered all other flavours in the dish. After about five years of tinkering with different variations, the base Lahuna Poke recipe was perfected.

Since that time a lot has changed. Beginning in Southern California, Poke has become the hottest food trend in North America and is sweeping across the continent. We were excited by this, but the underwhelming flavours of what was being created was disappointing to us. If a sushi master spends 5+ years just learning to make rice, why shouldn't we have to? So that is where Lahuna Poke began...

We have spent almost a decade perfecting our Poke, so you can enjoy it today.

This poke is the best I’ve ever had. A very comfortable meal. The staff is 5 stars, the girl had just closed but even though she still took my order in a friendly way. I can’t wait to try it again.
Super Fresh and Yummy. Have been eating here for a couple of years and love it. Certainly my go to choice when downtown and want a quick healthy and filling meal. I usually build my own bowl to get exactly what I want, but the feature bowls look great too. It is also great for takeaway on the train for the long ride home.
I grab a quick lunch on my break here quite often. Always very fast service and consistently delicious food. I usually create my own bowl but their Spicy or Crunchy bowls are both bomb too. They even have a keto bowl and its SO delicious and filling.
a refreshing alternative to the other food in this food court. Nice to get ample servings of veggies and spicy flavour in my bowl, especially when a short Wok around the corner, the same spend will only get you a limpid bowl of soggy noodles and some overpriced fried fish without any veggies at all. Prepared fresh by polite staff.
If I am not mistaken, it had 6 pieces of salmon. This is the most expensive poke to salmon i have ever tried. I thought portion is small and it is pricey so it should be high quality sashimi salmon. It wasnt
Really enjoyed the poke here, great service and a delicious meal, will definitely have this again next time I am in the area.
Worst poke I’ve had in Toronto. No flavour, almost no salmon and all rice and they forgot to give me seaweed salad
Best food by far in the 161 Bay concourse! Definitely worth a try
